I live in Cincinnati and the sports news guys were talking about how the Bengals approached the preseason by only tackling in preseason games and not at all during any practices.

Kind of find that odd and surprising at the same time. Is this the norm now? I know the Steelers tackled in practice.

Sorry I couldn't find a link but if I do will post it.

That explains how the jets 3rd string QB threw for 400 yds and beat them

Good if true, I hope they miss alot of tackles against the Steelers.
I wonder if a 180 pound CB will like tackling a 240 pd rb (Najee LOL) in the third and fourth quarter? I think not.

exactly - and by naming Bush and Edmunds as starters! They would not be starting for any other teams in the league

Najee will be lucky to take 5 clean handoffs, with that sieve of an oline.

A 180 lb corner will never have to worry about tackling Najee that's for sure. He has to break 3 tackles just to get back to the line of scrimmage.

On my way home from work today in Cincy the sports guys were talking about the no tackling approach to training camp and how the Steelers took the opposite approach and will be slightly at an advantage. They said that Zac Taylor is taking the "No tackle to the ground approach" during training camp as a way of making sure they can be healthy again and peaking at the right time late into the season. One of the sports guys questioned that going into week 1 against the Steelers.

Sorry no link yet but will keep searching.

That's odd...we tackle on practices and not in games. Maybe we need to try their tactics.

It’s the norm. Rams don’t do it. A lot of the teams with younger coaches don’t do it. Tomlin is old school so he does it.

Maybe the Bungholes will give the Stillers a draft pick for Devin Bush. He doesn’t tackle either and so he should fit right in.
