The Steelers really didn't spend that much money on Trubisky. The deal doesn't hurt them at all if Pickett ends up starting much of this season.

The desires of Pickett and the fans are irrelevant to the decision. Every quarterback on the roster wants to play and fans don't choose who plays.

Stringing Rudolph along implies that the Steelers somehow owed him an opportunity to start. They don't owe him anything. He got a shot to start in 2019 and wasn't very good. He didn't show enough then or since for the team to believe he should get a shot now. It sucks if the Steelers can't get some value out of him in trade, but that is hardly a disaster. Neither is the issue with the depth chart. I doubt it was a clerical error, but it really does no damage on the field.

You are just desperate for things to go badly. You want to be right more than you want the Steelers to win. I do not understand that thinking.

What is proper compensation for Mason?

 

Like I’ve said, drafting Mason was one of the worst things to happen to our franchise. We wasted a free pick for Bryant because of Tomlin. Ben didn’t like Washington or give him a chance because of his connection to Rudolph. We lost and screwed up Dobbs development. It essentially was 3 wasted picks. Then after all the years of development and time on Rudolph. They still didn’t trust him or good enough to be a bridge QB for a year or two. So we had to go get Mitch. Now we have 3 QBs. 1st round pick as a 3rd QB. It’s just one big disaster because of Rudolph who we didn’t even ****ing need because we had Dobbs!!! So stupid. These are the things that happen on Tomlin teams.

Rudolph was a late 3rd round pick. Years of experience and development. Should be able to get a 3rd or 4th round pick. Nothing less or just a colossal waste of time which it was.
