Why? If grabbing guys from other teams trash heap is better than what we have, then we are fooked.

So, why is suddenly on our team? Banking on hand me downs isn't a fix. JMO>

2025? Not 2024? That’s 3 drafts from now. That really is getting him for nothing.

Not sure what everyone is expecting. Teams simply do not trade good offensive linemen unless there is a contract dispute or something like that.

Until the FO gets serious with spending early round draft capital and legit starters in FA, this OL will continue to be the weakest position group. They ignored it in the draft and thought adding 2 mid tier FAs was going to fix the OL. How can they be so blind to this?

You mean other teams care about their OL and have good OL to being with? I envy those teams.

Agreed, Munchak could not fix this this mess. You can get away with a weak link, but every part of or this OL is broken.

They are blind because like everyone at this level of competition they have huge egos. They think they can coach up or scout better than the other team until they don't and are stuck with what they created. Pride prevents progress.

In next year's draft 3 of our top 4 picks better be O-lineman.

I'm thinking maybe the bad Oline play might have something to do with the coaching. Sure Kendrick Green played poorly last season but not as horrible as his play is this preseason. I thought Dan Moore did a respectable job last year as a rookie LT but this year it looks like that he never has played the position before. Daniels had a good pedigree coming here from the Bears but now looks totally lost and confused. This can't all be the players all of a sudden sucking this has to be part bad coaching as well.

Yeah, this. The players aren't great, and continuing to ignore the OL high in the draft is a dereliction of duty. Not to mention there's plenty of $ under the cap at the moment. Still, Meyer looks like a clown right now and it's fair to question WTF he's doing.

They could have got someone like this in waivers or signed off the street.

This sounds like a PR move to me. Signal to the public "Yes, the O-Line stinks but we made a trade, we did something!". Unless they see something other franchises haven't picked up on with this guy (which I doubt).

They cut Haeg and LeGlue, so they probably had this in the works.

I hate to put it all on the coach, but I agree. Daniels looks lost. Moore looks worse. Green looks worse. At some point, you have to question the coaching. You also have to wonder what the hell is wrong with their process in finding an offensive line coach. That would be two guys in a row who are disasters.

I'm sure they had that deal in place when they cut Haeg and they think Davis is a better player. Given their resumes, that is a fair assumption. I doubt they are looking at him as a starter, though he has been one the last four seasons and most of the one before that.

I mean he is a castoff bargain bin player but we gave up a 2025 7th rounder so who cares it’s not even news.

I would like to see Chuks moved to LT and let Davis play RT.

Last year Chuks and Moore were supposed to battle it out during camp for the starting LT position. They spent the entire offseason getting Chuks ready to play LT, and explained why Chuks was going to make such a better LT than a RT.

    Position
While the Steelers drafted Okorafor in the third round of the 2018 NFL draft, he was pegged as a developmental left tackle to be specific. Playing left tackle at Western Michigan, Okorafor his yet to play at what is pegged as his natural position. Of course, being a swing tackle, Okorafor should be prepared to play either position. But finally getting a shot to play a position in which he was an All-American his final year of college could help give him a boost in his performance.
