i can no longer be objective about Bush. I just want him gone.

Does this team have a legitimate identity?

Devin Bush whiffing on a 3rd and 17 draw play.

That can't happen at any level of football let alone the NFL.

At least he did make a nice stop on 4th and short.

But, he has me very worried. Hopefully Robinson just keeps developing as a Rookie.

The jury is still out after one good play. One. Lets see the fashion plate put a full game together, not dancing with the offense, welcoming contact. You know, stuff he was drafted for.

what a waste of 3 draft picks and a spot on the team. didn't like the pick then and even less now. hate to say i told ya so. michigans top ranked defense then was smoke and mirrors. not many if any have panned out from it.

I would start Robinson over Bush or Spillane.

The knock on Spillane is he can’t cover

That’s a significant part of the job

Are you saying Robinson is better in coverage

Could you provide any details on how you determined his coverage ability

The only thing I have on Robinson, coverage wise, was the goal line stand the Steelers tried to make. Two plays in a row, it was Robinsons duty to cover the back out of the backfield so I watched him exclusively. The first play went to the left side and Robinson was on the right so the camera didn't follow him but he was on the back as he was supposed to be. The second play, Bough rolled out and looked at the back as his first read but they were again off camera but I assume since he didn't pull the trigger, Robinson had decent coverage. Sorry but that's all I got.

Robinson looks good but he's just learning the position. Remember he only played LB 1 year in college. Yeah, I know TJ Watt only played LB for 1 year in college and he's been somewhat successful but that's a rarity.

I think Robinson makes the team but not as a starter. This will be a redshirt year for him as he prepares to start next year after Bush is gone.

Bush was better, but that's such a low bar at this point. I had forgotten how badly he was beaten on the opening play of the game. It was a simple, slow move by the tight end and Bush was left chasing him down after a significant gain. Despite his athleticism, he really isn't great in coverage, either.

Are you talking about the third-and-17 in the first quarter or another one? He didn't whiff on that play. He was blocked. Of course, failing to get off blocks is a big part of his problem.

I thought he was held too but your point still stands, he is unable to get off blocks.

I also thought he was held, but that was only after the running back got past him and the blocker.

Edit: I just watched it again. He did what he does far too often. He found the blocker instead of the ball. Sometimes it is as if he thinks his job is to take on blockers so someone else can make the tackle. Seriously, watch the play again. He seems to go out of his way to engage the blocker rather than trying to get to the back.

Your right he didn't whiff, didn't come off the block and make a tackle.

He was good and progressing Rookie year and up to his knee injury. Since been a shell of what he was becoming.

Sadly not the replacement to Ryan Shazier we had hope for.
