Their never was a Qb competition. Never in My life has a true competition been done when only one Guy gets all the advantages. People can blow smoke up each other A$$es , but they know this.
If it was a true Qb competition every Qb would have started....every Qb would have play with the twos, and every Qb would have played with the threes ,but that's not How it went. Only one Qb got 2 start with the ones every game. Am I lying????

It was never a competition for Rudolph but I believe Pickett and Trubisky were in a true competition and didn’t they shuffle them around among what units they played with anyway?

Dobbs took the job from Landry and he never played with the ones that preseason IIRC.

That was contract related. Dobbs was under control beyond that season. Jones was not, so they rolled the dice that going with no veteran backup wouldn't hurt them and lost that bet against the Raiders.

I don't think I would trade MR. You don't have to. He's worth more as an insurance policy than what you'd get for him in draft stock.

Hell, if the let him walk next year you might get the same level of compensatory pick as you'd get for him now anyway. And maybe a team gets desperate and overpays later.

Unless a team comes in with an interesting player for player trade.

Agreed. I do believe they would take a third-round pick for him. They might even be tempted to do it for a fourth-rounder, but I think they are better off holding on to him at that price.

They’d be fools for not taking a 4th rd pick for him. I know their track record with 4th rounders is not great but you have to take that. You could also flip that pick to move up.

Shrugs. I'm guessing the offers they got were lower. Maybe Garropolo's new deal taking him completely off the market will shake something loose.

Just a ploy to make the QB'S keep pushing hard in practice and to give the other Team more to prepare for..He knows who the starter is..

Mitch in the saddle with a quick hook for KP if we are slogging along or not at all if the O-line is so bad that KP would get killed.

    I like it.

Yup. He doesn't have to name a starter yet, so why give opponents more information?

In reality, he announced that Trubisky was the starter when he let him play the entire first half Sunday. If there were any chance Pickett would start against the Bengals, he needed to be taking snaps with the first team in that game.
