Rudolph would free up another 3 million. And we are sitting at almost 10. I forget how much we can roll over, so what do we do with it?

    1. Look at free agents.
    - trey flowers edge is cheap
    - daryl Williams played LG with panthers
    - i don't think eroc fisher ever played LG, but who knows.
    - kenyan drake RB.

    2. Look at one of our own to a new contract and front loading it

    3. Keep it in reserve.

4 ....Don't trade our 3rd Qb....because it's a long season, covid, and other unforseen things.
    5. We are about 2 cut a bunch of players.
    6. That's all I got for now:shrug:

That's where i was at with why I would not trade him for anything less than a 5th. Plus he adds knowing our playbook to talking to whoever is our #1 QB.

The old standby was to try and enter a season with 5 million in reserve..or so.ive been told. With the expanded PS still around, possible injuries having 10 mill is not a stretch. If there is a cut of a vet ol that warrants kicking the tires and signing a vet min. Contract then you have it.

Trading MR to save on cap space is minimal, bringing in a rookie is 750,000 min...signing a vet to even a vet deal is over a million unless you get a decent offer you just let him ride the pine. Remember long term is Kenny..17 game season is long. Stay the course.

I think he's definitely expendable at this point. I think Conner fits best with what Canada likes to do in short yardage situations as a wingback.

I can't see them trading Rudolph at this point unless it will fetch a 4th or 5th. Some team will unfortunately have a QB go down and will need a capable back up to add so then the price tag goes up.

They still need to look at adding an OLBer and O Line help.

It makes zero sense to trade Rudolph right now especially how bad our Oline is. If we still had Haskins then Mason would have already been traded. Now we are just stuck with him and that's not necessarily a bad thing at the moment.

now really isn't the time even if you were going to trade him. let the cuts take place and the season start. injuries are going to happen with us and other teams. price goes up for them, keeps us a vet backup, and the money is minimal. we should be freeing up some money anyway after the cuts. wait and see right now who becomes available. we will be filling spot 51-52 and 53 so the numbers will change some on cap space.

I can’t believe how much faith you have in Rudolph to save our season if we got to him :lolol:

He’s about to get demoted to 3rd string. He’s been a good soldier but thats asking a lot of him to take that in stride. If someone calls offering a draft pick for him you knock your secretary over getting to the phone.

You’d also be giving him a shot to start depending on the circumstance of the trade. The very least he’d be back to a #2.

BS. you are talking about if we got to him for many games during the season to save the season. that is not the only scenario that may arise blast. i'd have a lot more faith in him for a game or two during the season if it came to that to keep a possible run to the playoffs if our starter had an injury that wasn't season ending. that's why you would keep a vet starter capable guy as your 3rd guy in line while you pay him 3 mil. a year. that's pretty cheap actually. it doesn't have to be a doomsday scenario to make him worth keeping, and the whole season is lost.

    :bscow:

Right back atcha! You guys are ridiculous, the same guy who couldn’t beat Detroit, that was one solo game we could have used. Yeah, I know his teammates did him no favors that game but he certainly didn’t play a good football game.

I’d rather call Fitz off his couch if we needed an emergency QB and take the draft pick. You guys act like they get to 3rd string QB’s every year. Rarely happens at all.

Yep, Sam Darnold. And Matt Corral who they drafted this year. Both may be out for the year. So they are quite light and could be in the cards for a back up. Faker Mayfield won the starting job there.

I would hold out for a 4th. I think a desperate team will hand it over. I feel that's as high as it will go though.

So possibly if he plays well today he might be gone.

    I don't know about You

I can count 3 times in the last 7 years it has happened. Also Fitz would cost more.
Just get over Your Mason hate....He's a Steelers player...., and can be helpful for a game ,or 2.
Also do You honestly think in a raining game they wanted Mason 2 throw 50 times if they had no faith at all.
You forgot Your beloved Lamar only beat Detroit by a world record Field Goal kick.
