Agreed. Ole Charlton Heston was a mighty actor in the day.

True that Dotson will be the starter but for how long? (Injuries) Green needs to be glued to the bench! He is just not NFL caliber and really should be cut. Pathetic. He won't be though. I have never seen an offensive lineman being pushed around like he is on every play it seems.

Cole has been handling his business with both guards playing subpar. If Dotson goes down he would be my choice to move to LG or Leglue.
Hassenauer came in last season(a bit late) and held his own. Not saying he is the answer at center but a nice piece to have.

I do understand keeping Cole at center to keep continuity.

we shall see with the new guys we just added. mccollum and dunkle. Leglue is a smart cookie. maybe we do see him get a shot again. he hasn't played that bad this preseason. green is also on the ground way too much.

The concern is Dotson staying in the lineup. If he can't, then Hassenauer at center and Cole at guard is a better option than Green starting anywhere. We saw that at the end of last season. The line looked so much better once they got Green out of there. Sure, Hassenauer is below average. He really should be a backup, but Green shouldn't even be on a roster with the way he is playing right now.

I understand that Greene was a 3rd round pick, but he hasn't improved from last year, so why even keep him on the roster?

I was hoping s year in an NFL training room and going back to g would show something, he is perhaps worse at g. Sometimes you just have to admit your mistakes and cut your losses. Don't expect much from the cut wire, but you take a long look at teams with great o lines and scour the cuts. Maybe, just maybe you find a vet who can still play or at least someone who can fill a gap..green has just been that bad.

    I mean...

It also does not help that the Offensive Line coach has been changed three years in a row now. Continuity is a critical development tool for young players and doubly so young Offensive Lineman. Not having that overlooked yet underrated asset is going to haunt a team sooner than later.

What is currently being witnessed is the lack of continuity from obtaining an Offensive Line Coach. Shaun Sarrett was the longest tenured coach for the Offensive Lineman after Munchak left. He left in 2020, Adrian Klemm leaving just before the season ended in 2021 though he was an assistant himself in 2019 to 2020 for the Steelers. Pat Meyer is the third but the bigger question remains...

... Will Pat Meyer leave himself come 2023?! Something is not right in terms of finding a long term solution there. These picks have not been good but having a different teacher is far worse.
