With green just letting DT run passed him. results in the rest of the line looking like a failure. I am not trying to place all the blame on him, however moves like that start making the rest of the line try to shift to cover for his mistakes, which results in other mistakes being throughout the entire line.

Why do we not move Mason Cole to guard? he played that in rotation with the vikings. and he even had a good PFF grade, which was unusable due to he was a back up that rotated.

Because of how Green is playing is when i don't want to start pickett.i rather trubisly take these hits, due to be scrambled faster from the line falling apart.

I'm not worried about Daniel's. It always takes time for a great player to click. Unless he really does stink.

I'm cool with Daniels going to LG and Cole going to RG... but who's playing C?

Dotson in for Green at LG is probably the most workable solution with the players they have. He is much better than Green, the big question is whether he can stay on the field.

There is a real shortage of capable linemen around the league so getting effective outside help will be difficult. I think you just have to roll with Dotson and hope he can stay healthy, Leglue, and Haeg are the main depth. Green will stick on the roster because of where he was drafted but if we were being very kind we’d say he ‘needs more time’

I mentioned this in another thread. If Dotson can't hold the LG position then move Cole there and have Hassenauer play center. Green has no business even dressing on game day. He should be on the bubble of being cut! He cannot handle NFL D Lineman.

Hassenauer. Cole, Daniels, and Hassenauer may just be the Steelers best interior. I think Dotson is done.

    Dawson/Webster/Pouncey/Mansfield/Hartings

Steelers have been blessed with some great centers. We sure could use one of them to go back to their prime:)

I stated some concern for Mason Cole before the 2nd game - he did have a couple moments.
But as was mentioned, the mistakes are popping up from each..
That's why I harp on the "Playing as a unit" song and dance.
Green has been bad. I don't want to diagram that one, but you can see his footing is terrible and he winds up getting bent backwards.
    And then ran over.
At the snap, he had really good position on a single block, but he just played college style and tried to muscle a guy that is stronger.

All 5 guys are capable of playing better than they are.

The Steelers need to make Mike Munchak an offer he can't refuse. If he can't turn this unit around, then there's really no hope for them.

Thanks. this is my big boy, the other one I sold not to long ago and was just a project. I really wanted to put a TJ frame under the cherokee KL and then put it on 37". However I rather go get a truck to pull this bad boy around. Whenever I go in your state I will let you know.

I'm convinced if Green was center he would go to lean over and fall over like a drunk guy.

Saw somewhere that Munch is doing some work for the Vikings. It sure would be good to have somebody of his caliber working with the young guys. When you look at guys that came through out of nowhere like Villanueva and Feiler, he really did great work with the Steelers.

Early days with Meyer but his resumé just doesn’t inspire confidence, albeit you’d have to say there is no foundational piece on that line now to build on. When Munch came in to work with the team he had Pouncey and Decastro who were already great players and leaders, and they even Foster and Gilbert were much better than what Meyer is trying to work with. I’m not sure any coach could make this unit even average. There is a distinct lack of pedigree and experience right across the line unfortunately.

I dont know if the front office thought they could continue to find guys later in the draft and coach them up or if they were simply trying to get as much as they could from the older guys while stocking up at other positions but they’ve really put themselves in a tough spot now.

We have had 3 drafts to get a true Center and fa as well. It has to be someone out there that can play center.

Cole has been alright at center so far, so why would they move him now to LG? You just make Dotson the starter, leave Green on the bench.

There is no case for Cole at left guard because there's no real case for anyone else as the full time center.... Trust me when I say that there's no real lg competition.... If healthy, it's Dotson all the way.. ..
I fully expect green to be unemployed next season
