Nothing more than a wasted desperation pick after Dwayne Haskins Florida incident. Very unfortunate.

I was thinking we would finally see him in the 3rd game of preseason. I can't remember a draft pick getting cut before the final preseason game?

Now I am curious to see what the order of the QBs will be for the last game.

You're making the same mistake the coaches have been making for yrs now with that veteran at all cost mentality..... Having experience and actually producing are 2 different things..... I said in my pre camp roster prediction that Avery wouldn't make the team, and everyone bashed it simply because he was a "veteran" signing.... That has nothing to do with on field production

Putting Oladokun on the practice squad is like deciding to keep that ugly old sweater that you never wear. You hate to throw it out, because you paid something for it. So you shove in the back of your closet and throw it out two years from now.

rashed surpassed him in their tune up depth chart for this past weekend no? I guess they see what they see in practice but both haven’t done too shabby for the role they’re in this far.

depth is needed in whatever fashion.

Not necessarily. With yet another year of expanding the ps, if he even has shown remote skills, runs the scout team and comes to camp next year with a year under his belt. You might find a bu for a couple of years. Small investment

I heard it explained that they liked him, and they didn't think he would sign with them as a UDFA because they had three QBs ahead of him, it was a dumb pick either way.

I would think Avery is better than Tsuka, even if they like Rashed and Scott.

Tsuka hasn't produced anything and he's still on the team, Tsuka is Chickillo 2.0.

    Exactly!
#68 was a 2021 7th rounder for Dallas. Look at his video. What didn't we draft someone like him in the 7th round?

This is why They(some people on here) think My thought process on the team is because of who I like , or dislike......because theirs is.....Hey....let's get rid of a backup Qb that knows our system, and verbiage for a different backup that doesn't know any of it. LoL LoL LoL.

That’s fine if you have a bunch of hungry young guys with upside vying for that spot like they do at WR. I don’t think that is the case here with Avery, or at least I haven’t heard of any young OLB’s making plays in this camp.

They obviously don’t think Avery is a fit and they’re moving on, I think he was injured a bit as well. I’d expect them to be scanning the waiver wire for help at OLB because they have nothing even remotely dependable behind TJ and Alex now

I am also one of the people that didn’t bash you when you said Avery wouldn’t make the team. He is a replacement/ rotational player and I don’t think anybody is going to be heartbroken over him being cut loose. The only reason it surprised me is that this leaves them with virtually no depth at all.

I doubt many teams would be trading for a 7th-round draft pick.

So did I, but he got caught out of position way too much for a veteran against the Jags.

Didnt have anything to do with Oladokun and everything to do with not needing a 3rd string QB. Steelers are one of the few teams that even carry three QB’s.

You’re hyping up knowing the playbook way too much. I think it was Mallet who joined the Ravens like the day before we played them and they beat us. Rudolph is not a god QB no matter how much he knows the playbook. Hell go sign Fitzpatrick if they need an emergency starter.

And its a new playbook anyway, do you think they are still using the one they had for statue Ben who avoided throwing to the MOF like the plague.

Exactly this. People act like if Rudolph gets traded the Steelers are going to be thin at QB. This simply isn't true. I would rather carry another position player than 3 QBs.

    LoL....Your hate I can feel it....:emperor:
You love 2 be wrong. LoL :lolol:
I don't even want Mason 2 start, or play , but I do want Him on the team for emergency, but Your hate won't let You see that....just like Your hate(or misguided knowledge)wouldn't let You see why Ben threw short passes last year.....Hey , but that's You....I'm cool with it:thumbs_up:
    Take Care:thumbs_up:
Also Mallet was a Great Qb....He was just a Der de Der, and couldn't get out of His own way....I know ....He played for the Razorbacks.
