The steelers have the worst offensive line in the NFL?

We are doomed.

 

More than draft position, it’s just poor scouting on our part. Other teams have 4th - 7th round guys excelling

 

Possibly. The whole scouting department has pretty much changed but these guys were pretty good players in college. Just because others have had some success doesn't mean it will be like that everywhere. Coaching has been a carousel for the last few years too. It's not a done deal yet but getting critical.

 

In the preseason? Come on.

 

It's time to name Dotson the starter, Green is terrible, guys are running right by him .

 

makes me wonder what the coaches do and whether they practice anything useful.

 

Problem with Dotson is he's never healthy. Our IOL help must come from outside the organization.

 

Maybe they could slide Cole to LG and let JC play Center?

Or, bring back Leglue to compete with Green AND Dotson for the starting LG position.

 

I'm ok with first option. Not ideal, but better than what we have now.

 

Watching Kendrick Green play reminds me of the old Melanie song from the 70's. "I've got a brand new pair of roller skates you've got a brand new key".

 

Yet we only rushed for 24 yards total, right?

Leglue would be more serviceable at guard.

 

08 offensive line kept the Steelers from blowing the Cardinals out in the Super Bowl. Hartwig almost cost us the Super Bowl by himself. Not scoring a TD on that first drive and Hartwig holding in the end zone that would have all but clinched the game, it was very close.

 

I was going to say that Greene and Moore take turns getting bull rushed, but after further review they both get destroyed almost every play.

 

Leglue was getting worked late in that game as well. he gave up the safety pressure.

 

He is going to get someone hurt playing like this.

 

Some people on this board were actually singing Kendrick Greens praises too when he was drafted last year. He might be one of the worst offensive lineman I have ever seen at this level.

 

Agreed because they actually weren't that bad against Seattle...but now that everyone has watched them get manhandled, expect more of the same every week from everyone else.

 

Can you say a bunch of stiffs play o line for the Steelers. I was fearful for QBs on pass downs. The left tackle did his best ole' bullfighting technique on numerous plays. Sign someone now before we go through all 3 QBS. They had miliseconds in time to throw on most plays. Then on run downs, we average minus1/2 yard on most of those plays. The o line will be our downfall this year, not the QB play. As for defense, someone please cut Bush....he is slower than me and i am 50.Worst LB in the league ...he was slow on all outside run plays and cant cover anybody out of backfield. Run d stinks still.

 

I generally resist making general statement based on spliced together clips since they're usually cherry-picked, but...damn, it was snap after snap. Even if it was cherry picked that a bumper crop of cherries.

 

It's one game, they ran the ball okay against the Seahawks.

 

I was pleasantly surprised by the line in the first game. Did not see the second game.
