The steelers have the worst offensive line in the NFL?

This is according to Mike Clay of ESPN

Do you think that the offensive line is this bad?

 

I doubt they're the worst, they're better at run blocking than pass blocking.

 

I’m hoping for the lofty goal of being mediocre this year

If Daniels is a dud they will be a bottom 5 line yet again.

This is why it was so incredibly dumb to draft a RB in rd 1 with a complete horse crap OLine. Unless we were drafting Barry Sanders we were going to waste the first few years at best of Najee. You have to build the OLine via the draft before anything else when it’s this poor.

 

This is the truth. We don’t have to have the best OL. Ben won two Superbowls in front of mediocre/average lines. They just have to not suck and we should have a pretty good chance at winning a bunch of games this year. If they are the worst OL in the league, our offense will blow.

 

Their run stopping ability is worse.

 

Pretty hard to win in the NFL when you have terrible lines. I can’t stand MT but if he gets this team to 500 they should build a statue of him in front of whatever dumb ass stadium insurance building.

 

Wrong. The '05 OL was stacked and very good. I'll give you the '08 OL. Faneca leaving after '07 made the Oline mediocre.

 

I think this 22 line is going to be solid as a run blocking unit, but terrible in pass protection. Overall, somewhere between 20ish & 25ish.

 

Let's hope they improve, won't be able to compete for playoffs if they don't play well.

 

they have some game film now. they will have some more tonight. from seeing some of this film it looks like it's fixable. stunts and passing off players seem to be the problem mostly which isn't unusual. committing to help at the wrong spot and where they are looking initially seems like the problem. that can be fixed. gap control and overcommitting is leaving guys reaching and expecting help that's not there. the guy that should be there is helping in the wrong spot and leaving a big rush lane. i don't think it's about individual players being bad, it's more about how they are working together. that's part of gelling. not over committing and gap integrity. it should be fixable.

 

all of our starters are draft picks. a 2nd, 3 3rds, and a 4th rounder, and if you want to add dotson another 3rd. we used to have 2- 1st's and 3 UDFA's.

The one in 2010 were not great too when the steelers were AFC champions but the injuries were also a factor.Jonathan Scott was a true disaster at the LT position!

 

3rd round picks and later is a coin toss if that. I’m talking 1st or 2nd rd picks

Gonna be a long season folks because the Jaguars just showed the copycat league the blue-print to slowing down the Steelers offense. Yes you should be worried.

 

Yep. They clearly were weaker and slower than the jags interior DL. Coaching won't fix that. They need better talent.

 

The line is horrible at run blocking. Averaged minus one first four attempts. They are a little better at pass blocking but still way below average. QBs will be running for their life. Spend money on a legit o line and and not a second hand me down
