Hodges was an undrafted free agent rookie who had no business ever starting a game in the NFL, so no, that comparison wouldn't even come close to holding up if Rudolph did somehow end up starting games this season.

That seems really stupid. The last thing they should be doing is wasting so many snaps on Rudolph in the preseason. Pickett should get the entire second half.

    Yes, you were wrong.

You are also wrong about mobile quarterbacks. Josh Allen doesn't read the field? Steve Young didn't read the field? Terry Bradshaw didn't read the field? Warren Moon didn't read the field? Fran Tarkenton didn't read the field? Some mobile quarterbacks don't read the field, but your premise that mobility automatically means they don't do it just demonstrates your ignorance on the topic.

rudolph wasn't supposed to start his 2nd year either. your post wasn't misleading but you have a way of doing that without using all the facts in your stories. just on the edge of misleading. you are quite good at that.

Memory shaky but wasn't that a game where we were resting our starters for the Playoffs or should I say 1 Playoff game?? And if memory serves Mason almost pulled out a win?????

Yes he did! Do your homework and look at week 17 2020 against the Browns. He showed marked improvement over the year before.

Whoever plays the best, looks the best, leads the best in REAL GAMES, should be the starter for this team. We're not even close to that yet. We still have 3 games to figure this out. No one knows squat until then.

I understand that. But it wasn't the only time.

For those in the back Mason Rudolph is NOT a full time starting QB. But keep thinking that.

    Ummm. That's something I have no trouble saying....I'm wrong...strange isn't it.
You also fit in whomever You want as a mobile Qb 2 fit what You say, and No Steve Young said Himself He ran a lot because He couldn't read the field, and play from the pocket until way later in His career....Sorry that's out of His own mouth.....So You will have 2 tell Mr. Young He is wrong. :shrug:Not Me.

Those of you saying you have seen enough of Mason Rudolph to know he doesn't have it. I am in no way saying Mason Rudolph is the next Peyton Manning, but by the looks of these stats their first year starting, it looks like Peyton should have been benched and run out of town. Many of you would have had him riding the pine in way of a Mitch Trubisky type QB. The biggest stat not documented here (which goes against Mason) is Peyton Manning wasn't following a HOF/QB.

Laughable. You have NO CLUE how good he'll end up but you are acting as if you do. Your have zero credibility, but I'm sure if he wins 2 SB's you still say he was drafted too early as some blow so hard that they can never say they were wrong.

Your comparison is absurd, on many levels. Rudolph just turned 27. Compare Mason’s career to date numbers with Peyton’s at the same age. It’s night and day. It’s filet mignon vs chicken sh*t. It’s a generational QB vs some 3rd round guy.

What they’ve done rookie vs rookie is irrelevant compared to their relative career progression. Wild guess, Mason ain’t winnin no MVPs and won’t go to 4 Super Bowls.

All I know is, Willis looked good last night. And, we aren't even allowing our 1st rd draft pick to play. I hope, we don't waste all the young talent on offense because of poor qb play.

Willis arm strength is off the charts and he showed that on some throws last night. His TD run looked like he had no chance to reach the end zone but he made Kyle Hamilton whiff badly on the tackle.

From what I heard M W looked average,. He would have had 2 interceptions if they wasn't dropped,. .. pay no intention to the people who wanted Willis drafted over Pickett

Yes, I'm very good at not being misleading with my posts.

You, on the other hand, just implied I'm doing something dishonest without stating as much, most likely because you can't back it up.

Rudolph had an entire season in the NFL before he had to play that second year. It was not a comparable situation to Roethlisberger as a rookie. You and others are twisting yourselves into knots trying to make the guy out to be better than he is for some odd reason.
