The first 300 yards of Bradshaw career was in 1978 in the super bowl against Dallas!

Again his body of work. When Ben was injured he didn't show he could sustain the starting position. Frigging Duck replaced him. And the Lions game he could have showed us all. He didn't. He is a back up at best. He will not unseat Trubisky and hopefully he is the #3 when the season starts.

Mason has a better chance of starting for the Falcons or Seahawks than he does the Steelers.

It still means nothing, as does how they will play this year. Mitch was a rookie, MR was 2nd year. I don't know the line the bears had, the Steelers line and running game sucked. I give little credence to the browns game two years ago or the lions game last year. Both are likely destined to be career back ups. Just manage the game this year and use the weapons available...if one or both can do that this team should be fun to watch.

Today another front page tweet about Mitch struggling at practice.

If Mitch doesn't start this Saturday and sits simply because he is Tomlin's #1 guy on the depth chart, I am going to be pissed.

I don't know about that. Mason made huge improvements last year by just watching his feet in the pocket compared to his rookie year. Let's face Ben is a total jagoff as a human being and sure didn't help mason cause Ben only cares about Ben and finding Jesus didn't cure him from being a low rent human being. I'm willing to wager #2 starts in the NFL this season, probably won't be Pittsburgh but he's gonna play somewhere

Be prepared to be pissed. For Mason to have a shot Mitch has to completely suck, and the way Kenny is coming on strong, Mason may find himself the #3 come week 1.

Mitch will play the entire first half, is my bet.

There were VERY FEW 300 yard passing games in the 70s. That changed when Dan Fouts and Air Coryell came along in the late 70s, early 80s.

You’ve got to admit, Mason is fighting hard and it’s made an already compelling quarterback competition even more compelling.

I think all 3 should get plenty of reps in preseason games to show what they can do in game conditions. If Mason puts points on the board and Mitch doesn’t, then maybe he deserves 1st crack at it. I’m not confident in Rudolph based on what I’ve seen of him on a football field so far, but I’d be thrilled to be wrong if he turns into a winner and pro bowler for us.

Why? If he continues to be the clear cut best quarterback in camp I believe he could be the starting quarterback when the season opens.

Because 3 weeks of camp doesn't outweigh resume and ceiling. Mitch has to totally bomb preseason games and at that point Kenny likely wins the job. Hell, even counting just camp and no preseason games up to this point Kenny just might be #2.

I’m not suggesting that he should be handed the job after three weeks, but if he’s outperformed the other two at the end of the pre-season there’s no valid reason that he shouldn’t start. I’m not saying that’s going to happen and I have serious doubts about Mason, but if he’s the dog with the bone firmly entrenched in his jaws at the end of camp, he should start.

At the end of preseason is another story compared to Aug 10th. Kenny already caught up to him and has played better since the pads been put on. Mason had the given head start on both but the further we've gone both Mitch and Kenny has been progressing whilst Mason been stagnant. Granted Mitch had a soso day today, probably his worst since pads been put on. Everything about Mason is inflated due to the first week when Mitch and Kenny both looked like shytt. In any report, that I've seen, Mason hasn't been mentioned as the best QB in practice in well over a week.

It stands to reason that Mason would have gotten off to a faster start than Mitch or Kenny given his familiarity with Canada and just the team’s offensive concepts in general. We’ll see what happens and I’m looking forward to watching the competition over the next few weeks. May the best man win! :yeehaw:

I thought they said for Aug 10th Mason had a great day by scoring twice with one being a bomb to Pickens. Mitch went 0-4 while Mason went 2-4.
