appealing d. watson's 6 game suspension. They want it to be indefinate. Looks like the N.F.L. has learned from it's past mistakes.

Appeal goes straight to Godell. Hmm wonder how that works? They have learned nothing..do I think.it should have been more, yes. But the way they have handed out suspensions without any real guidelines is this being the same old crap. Forget the 24 lawsuits, forget the dozens of other mandate therapists. The NFL brought 4 cases before the Judge. Based on previous cases she thought 6 games what was called for based on precedent.

During the last CBA the league agreed to this new format, that was the time to iron out suspensions. This is just the same way of doing it..by the seat of public opinion. BTW how many draft picks did the Pat's lose, fines and games suspended did Kraft get for his rub and tug? Finally learning my butt.

Deshawn will not fight this in court.
He would be stupid because the policy is right in the collective bargaining agreement.
He could delay the suspension up to a year in court but then when he loses which he will, he would be suspended next year and lose 45 million instead of one. Goodall knows this and reason he is calling Ndola and Deshawn bluff .

Without outrage over just 6 games it would have been business as usual for Goodell. But now he gets to swoop in and show the shield really cares.
He should have been suspended for the year. And now he will be.

He might want to take this to court. But it's very likely a court will refuse to hear it, saying "You guys just negotiated this process a few months ago, your chance to avoid sending the appeal to Goodell was then, abide by the agreement you made".

If they suspend him this year they will levy a fine aside from his salary. They'll probably negotiate something along the lines of...you sit out this year, and we'll just take your salary. You fight with us...we'll negotiate the number of games and suspend you 12 games and fine you 45 million...take your pick.

    :hmm:

I would state that the NFL realizes that the socioeconomic climate has greatly changed since 2010-2015. Granted, the league still has some ways to go before enacting on proper discipline like the MLB but at the minimum, it is a step in the right direction. That said, one question is still on my mind.

Given the fact that the NFL has appealed this ruling, assuming the league and the NFLPA have to come to some concessions in court, anyone here believe this is going to be a one year suspension in the end?! :hmm:

Something to think about for certain.
