I'm glad to see Ray Mathews get some recognition. He was an All-Pro WR and kick returner for the Steelers back in the 1950's. Ray was a local kid who played his HS ball at McKeesport.

Agree with all, but how was Myron Cope not there years ago?

I tend to agree, but it's still a relatively new thing that started 5 years ago. I'd put him in the first year myself.

My foremen at one of my employers was good friends with Ray Matthews. He and his family owned bar and restaurant in Grove City Pa. My Brothers Place! Not sure if they still own or not?

There was at least 25 in the original class, representation of most decades of steeler fb..Myron was a legend for nearly 3 of those decades. Glad he is in, but yes deserved it the first year.

I believe Ray's sons own the bar now. Ray passed away a few years ago. If you want a challenge try and finish the sandwiches they serve at My Brother's Place they are gigantic and delicious.

    Myron Cope.
I remember when he come on the scene, mid to late 60's.
My initial thought was "Who in the @#%$% is this loudmouth?"
But I was strangely drawn to listen.... and listen...
Soon enough Myron Cope was a Pittsburgh legend, like Bill "Chilly Willy" Cardale and Bob "And that's a dinger" Prince.

I finally met Myron after many years.
Sadly, it was in his last days, just before he retired.
The man was total Pittsburgh all the way.
When he died, a little bit of history died...
I still hear "Yoi!" when I watch the Steelers.

You're right, how the heck is Myron not already there?

I met my wife in Chicago and we moved to Pittsburgh

When we got here my wife hated listening to Myron

Years later when he died she put him on our Christmas card
