Perhaps I'm reading too much into this, but adding Jeremy McNichols and now working out Jordan Howard tells me that Benny Snell's days are numbered. Perhaps I'm reading the wrong tea leaves tho.

It is quite possible that both Snell and McFarland's days are numbered. I could see them going into the season with McNichols, Howard, and one of the rooks as backups. That would be an upgrade if you ask me.

IMO it's all about the running game for a decent season. Regardless who is at QB (it will be Mitch) I don't think they have the ability to get a W if the running game is shut down. I don't know if Mitch had a decent running game when he was a Bear???

I'm not sure if it means his days are numbered, but I'm glad they are at least kicking the tires. I want to give Benny at least some relief..the o line has stunk the last couple of years, but I just do not see enough quickness.

None of them will stick....... Howard has a name due to past accomplishments, from what I saw in his previous appearances, he has no gas left in the tank

Really? He only played in 7 games for the Eagles last year but he had 86 carries and averaged 4.7 per attempt with 3 TDs. His only bad year was 2021 and over his 7 year career has averaged 4.3 and has scored 37 touchdowns.

He's 27 years old and as a backup is a definite upgrade over what they have.

Interesting. Howard could be effective in limited use. He wasn’t awful last year for the Iggls. Benny Snell Football may be looking over his shoulder. Howard isn’t ancient by any means, but RBs do age in dog years.
Also interesting that the two DL worked out were tackles, while Alualu is a defensive end. I had assumed that the big question mark is Alualu’s fractured ankle from last year, but one would thing they would have brought in some DEs. Alualu is 35 and at well over 300lb, that ankle sure gets a stress test!

Howard HAS to be an upgrade over Snell and McFarland. Harris is the work horse; Howard won't be asked to carry the bulk of the work. As far as Snell is concerned, he lacks quickness and is a little smallish. I get that he hasn't had much of a line, but does anybody believe he'd be a capable back-up with a decent line? I don't have anything against against the guy, but I think he's easily replaced. McFarland was a wasted pick. The next time he does something positive on the field in a regular season game will be the first time.

Maybe He's got enough gas left in the tank as a good backup though. You, and I know We won't use Him very much no matter how good He May , or May not still be.

Fans forget Snell plays special teams, a guy like Howard isn't going to be on special teams.

Now....This is very true....Although....I have been thinking of that. Keep Snell, and get rid of McFarland.

Benny Snell isn't small. 5-10 224 is plenty big for an NFL RB.

I do agree though, as long as he hasn't taken a big drop from last year, Howard has to be an upgrade over Snell.

I should have clarified. In my opinion, for the way he mostly has to run, I don't think he's big enough for the NFL. He doesn't really have the quickness to make people miss, so he has to try to get yards after contact. I honestly think the guy gets the most of what he has. And as someone else mentioned, he is a good ST's player. If they can replace McFarland with a more capable backup and keep Snell around primarily for special teams play and as a third stringer, I think they'll be okay. As long isn't forced into significant snaps on offense.
