First time I heard Disturbed do the Sounds of Silence I thought it was disrespectful. It sounded like they were mocking a fantastic song. After 2-3 times I realized how freaking cool it actually was.

I know what you mean. It just seems the way they do it really lines up with the song itself. Thanks!

One of the 1st songs I learned....not the 1st , but one of them. Hell I still play this. I have always dug the lead on this.
Haha....the Guitar is slightly out of tune on this.

Music is like air to me. My spotify playlist is absurd. The last time I checked it was something like 120 hours of music. It covers pretty much every genre and time period imaginable. Hit play and you’ll hear Coltrane one minute, Ravi Shankar the next, and some punk rock thing after that.

I too love music. I like a ton of stuff from the 50's 60's 70's. I only have around 23 hours of music downloaded but like yours it's very diverse. I love this thread

Never heard this, but I like it. Reminds me of something out of O Brother Where Art Thou.

This is stuck in my head after listening to The Best of Chuck Berry. The song the Beach Boys "borrowed" for Surfin' USA without permission.

The only “supergroup” I’ve ever really cared for. Pretty sure they only made one record with one supporting tour. Consisted of members of The Mavericks, Wilco, Cheap Trick

I thought he was cool as a kid. However, overtime his music has become infantile. He hasn’t released a decent record since Derrick st Holmes left in the 70’s. That includes the damn Yankees crap. I watched the interview with him back in the 90’s(?) where he talked about his love of young girls and getting a teenage girl’s parents to sign over custody to him. And not showering for weeks and covering himself with feces to get out of Vietnam. He was damn proud of himself then. Now that he’s become the bastion of conservatism he claims it isn’t true.

you know I've noticed that some musical artists that are into the modern music have an appreciation for music like this. I'm glad you're one. I grew up in the late 60's and 70's. Man the music was great then.
