Goodell says Sunday Ticket will be moving to a streaming service after this year. You will no longer need to have Direct TV to watch Sunday ticket. I think this is a good move.

Everything is moving in this direction. MLS putting their entire schedule on Apple TV will be interesting.

I can’t wait! Although, I would be shocked if there’s not an additional fee.

I wonder if it will get bogged down when everyone starts streaming all the games in your area?

But will it still be available as a package through DTV if that's what you have?

    Don’t know

I live within the area I get it by regular satellite

I’m just grumbling because my satellite provider dumped Pirate and Penguins games and the Pirates and Penguins just say “stream it” which many rural people can not do

I thought with the mobile 5G, the home internet was going to go away like the home landline phone.

At least that is what T-Mobile keeps trying to have me do. Switch off my Home Cable internet and go completely mobile for both my cell phone and home internet needs.

It's only unlimited data in name.

    DSL over phone line

Tech guy pinged me and told me I was their most distant customer

Today is a good day 1.83 Mbps download 0.50 Mbps up

I can sort of get Netflix in SD but it’s not great

It goes out when it rains or the critters eat the wires

    For TV DishNetwork

The local cable company where I live held a monopoly and didn't feel pressure to upgrade anything. They had data packages where like you pay 100 dollars for 650 GB's for downloads. IF you hit your limit they throttled you down to barely 2mbs download speed unless you upgrade your package. I had three kids streaming Netflix and youtube and a wife binge watching shows on Netflix. We were throttled every month by the start of the third week. Finally the city allowed competition in and the data packages dropped and unlimited access was given to all existing subscribers to keep them from jumping ship. Most of the town jumped ship.

yeah at those speeds you aren't going to be able to get any thing streamed that is high quality. I think best case scenario for you is looking at the phone streaming programs Brice is talking about where you get a mobile hotspot that TV's and smart devices can connect to.

I will look into that but I’m wondering about how much data I can download

A HD movie or football game is probably a lot of data

yeah it is definitely some small print reading as you are shopping. We have unlimited data on our Verizon accounts but when the Stepdaughter took her much delayed school trip to Germany two weeks ago we had to change her data package since it was getting eaten up in Europe. Apparently unlimited means only within the confines of the continental US. Who knew?

And I assume that was on a phone or iPad

I was looking at how much data it would take to watch a nfl game in HD on my tv and it’s a lot

One package that covered using it for TV daily was about $3K a year

Yeah it was an iPhone. That price is insane. I was hoping for this announcement since the only reason we had cable was so I can watch football on Sundays. If the move Direct Ticket to streaming services like Apple or Prime I'm going to jump on it. I recently added the triple package of Hulu and Espn+ to our Disney+ subscription because the Pens were on ESPN a lot now and I could get the local Pittsburgh feed in high def. Like crazy high def. Unless you do a lot of regular TV watching that 3k isn't worth it at all by about 2400 dollars. I know you have direct ticket but have you ever had them black out the games ?

I can no longer Pirate or Penguin games by any method

So the latest is that it will be Google/Youtube. "The price will be similar to the current DirecTV charge".."YouTube TV could still sell limited satellite rights, for bars and for consumers in areas that lack access to sufficiently effective high-speed Internet access"

My buddy is in the mountains and has Starlink, typically streaming Sunday Ticket. For the Saturday games, he couldn't use Sunday Ticket because of NFL Network. He finally got a trial to Youtube TV and said the streaming was the best he has seen for live TV.

That's good to hear, because I just purchased a home in Center Township in the heart of Beaver County, 5 minutes from the 376 exit and Comcast has informed me that they end service 700 feet from the house and quoted me $72,000 in construction costs to build out service to my home.

I'm on the Starlink waiting list.
