Breaking: The ketchup bottles are coming down. Heinz Field will be renamed Acrisure Stadium. After the Michigan-based insurance brokerage firm. An official announcement could come as soon as Tuesday.

    I hate it

    ugh, I hate that.

To avoid confusion I feel Heinz Field should have a permanent name, and then the sponsor name gets tacked on.

For Example, Rooney Stadium becomes Rooney-Acrisure Stadium or Rooney-Heinz Stadium.

Is it totally the Rooney's decision? You'd think that Pitt and the Sports Authority management company had to have some input as well wouldn't they?

They could have the new name flow out of the ketchup bottles when in the red zone

Depends on the agreement between the 3 back when the stadium was built

Keep in mind the Rooney’s didn’t totally hold a gun to the city when negotiating who paid for what so maybe that was part of the deal

Yeah the Steelers are just like lease holders and I doubt Rooney gets much say in who gets to advertise in the Stadium.

But, from what I gather Thomas Tull is some what connected to this Insurance company.

I think he's the guy who own Legendary Pictures
    Who do the movies.

The 3rd Batman movie Heinz Field gets blow up and a bunch of Steelers are in it etc.

He's a billionaire in his own right.

    Actually this is not correct

Rooney was negotiating the naming rights and discussed it back in February

    He also did with Heinz

    First I'll say

    BOOOOOO!

Then I'll say that Michigan Insurance company just spent a lot of money for fans to just keep calling it Heinz Field

I think you're confusing the Rooney's with that cheapskate that bought the Pirates. That guy is all about the money. Do you have any examples that there was that shift when Art took over from his dad?

Let's see where do the Steelers need to take out insurance policies.

    Tomlin .500 season? Yes.
Finding their next franchise QB? Yes.
O-line: Will Acrisure underwrite a policy for the o-line?
Claypool staying on his feet? Definitely.
Dionte Johnson's drops? Contract year, policy not needed.
RB2 for Najee? Yes, whole life policy.
    Health for the d-line? Yes.
Bush going to the right hole? (Make your own sex joke here).
CBs: You can never be over insured.
Danny Smith's gum? Now that's funny.

Where did you read about the Ketchup Bottles coming down? Heinz could pay just to sponsor the Heinz Red Zone even with the Stadium name change.
