Agree with all, the biggest questions for this upcoming season and making the playoffs:

Ben always had the ability to win games when behind. We were always just waiting during games for him to do it. Do these new QB have the it factor?

Matt Canada's offensive philosophy, play calling, I'll believe it when I see.

    can ≠ will
easier than last year ≠ easy (on an absolute scale)

There will always be the 2010 Chargers as a warning example.
#1 offense and #1 defense, and still missed the playoffs.

I expect my Steelers to make the playoffs every year, but that is just me. You always speculate on what other teams (and the Steelers) have done to get better and you never know until the games start and you can see if it worked or not. And, of course there is always injuries...so hard to win without key players. After two years off from sports, I for one am excited to see my Steelers play again. It will certainly be strange to not see Ben as QB, but hopefully one of our guys will step up and be the guy.

Jeh I was watching the 1995 divisional game between the Bills and the Steelers at 3 rivers. It was surreal how much they loved NOD in the 1st quarter but once Cowher took the air out of the ball and Buffalo adjusted their defense, they were raking NOD over the coals by the start of the 4th.

I expect the first few games will be like that. Early success will cause the "we should have ditched Ben years ago" talk and misseason struggles will start the " we didn't realize how good we had it" stuff. Eventually it will all meld into blurry past with grainy youtube videos of it.

I don't buy we will make the playoffs easily. There are many good teams in the AFC. Strength of schedule is also a misnomer. Most every team tries to get better, you really do not know what you have until the season starts and see if a team takes on an identity. Injuries aside, when a team gains confidence and starts to gel, and more importantly learns to win the close games..then you begin to see the heart. I really have no idea if this team in 7-9 or 12-5. I have a lot of interest however.

I would be willing to bet the farm right now, that we are not going to have the #1 offense. This team will live and die with the Defense.

I see a divided locker room without Ben to balance the scales of power: All the team leaders are on Defense. I also see a lot of finger pointing to offensive problems this year as to why we are losing games.

Who do you think is going to be the locker room leader for the offense?"

The Steelers Vets: DJ? Chuks? Mason?

I will pass on Mitch being a team leader as he will have his hand full just keeping his job this year.

So, who is your choice for Offensive Team captain this year?

LOL.... Do you take away the Team Captain "C" on his jersey if he gets benched?

And this is ASSUMING he wins the starting QB job.

What? I thought the Tomlin always chose an Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams captain every year.

I thought last year was Ben, Heyword, Derek Watt.
