I am expecting Khan to make at least 1 move and bring in someone this offseason that is all his.

I just saw a report that says as of the Minka signing we have the highest paid defense and the lowest paid offense in the NFL.

I would like another offensive line player the most. But i also like a DT.

But I'm also cool with seeing what we have for the season and then going from there

You didn't read my post #42, did you?

Tuitt's 2022 cap hit before retirement was $13.9M
After retirement, there is dead money of $4.9M

The difference between those two numbers is... $9M.
That is the cap difference from Tuitt's retirement, that mac daddy was referring to.

You keep bringing up the dead money. That money isn't going anywhere.

I think you are not giving them time to get the contract figured in. When it is announced and when it is officially put on the books in the league office could be quite different.it will all get on OTC when official. You do know incentive and workout bonuses kick in at different times for different players too. The league also counts different amounts for vets signings. Sort of discounts for years I believe it is. All this stuff has to be made official through the league office before it shows on the cap officially.

I just find it funny that this dude @Mashburn started a whole thread just to try and zing a couple guys and it’s backfired in epic proportions.

If there was a free agent out there that they wanted they would have snagged them by now. Save it for a camp cut a la Joe Haden. No harm in rolling it over to next year either.

i think, if im not mistaken, they can only carry over so much of their cap. i believe it's about 89% has to be used. we only have 89 players signed out of the possible 90. we have room for one even if cut later. won't hurt to take a look at a position especially if we have an injury. that player could then become some depth down the road. doesn't hurt the cap to have that guy right now.

I've been wondering that. But maybe 5 years ago it was said teams can roll over. And it helped the buccs start giving out heavy front loaded contracts. But now I'm wondering if its a percentage.

Does Boswell get an extension, or do they let him test the free agent market at the end of the year?

Are FG kickers that much better than years past. Boswells 90% didn't even crack the Top 10 last year. Of course 3 of those kickers did not have more than 10 attempts.

    They should sign Boz.
He has another 10 good years in him.

Did some reading is 11% that can be rolled over. Do about 17 million. However bonuses and etc will be taken out of that.

So now my question becomes why not redo 2 of your top players to contracts to just paying then more (that you know you'll be wanting to stay. Like tj).

I've always wondered that myself. The CBA specifies a % that has to go to the players. But for years it seems like teams like Cincy were always under the cap and rolling money over. That of course just seems that way, but certainly the union would be screaming if their players were short changed.

But the question is does that include the rollover?

The Steelers 2022 Salary Cap this year is $208.2mil NFL Salary Cap + 7.8mil (2021 Rollover) = $216 million Salary Cap for the Steelers in 2022

Is the 89% based on the NFL's $208.2 million or the Steelers' $216 million?

The ownership could pocket the rollover every year if the 89% is based on the league Salary Cap and not the individual Team Salary Cap.

FYI- IF you like playing with numbers I highly recommend the movie JERRY & MARGE GO LARGE.
Funny movie you can watch with your parents. But they really missed explaining that it took place over an 8 year period.

Kind of like Breaking Bad without the Drugs, Sex, and Violence.

Teams must spend 89%. The league must spend cumulatively 95%.
