It's just one opinion vs. another opinion I understand, but my recollection was that we couldn't afford to pay max dollars for all three DL so one had to go and they chose to keep tuitt instead of Hargrave and in hindsight tuitt's absences would have made hargrave the one to keep.

one thing the defense better do is to quit missing tackles. 125 on the season. that would go a long way to helping.

They let him pursue free agency because they could not afford him. They were already paying top dollar to two defensive lineman at the time. Hargrave had his best year last year in Philly. He is a solid DT. I don’t know where you are getting your information from regarding Hargrave. Wormley is not a good fit for this defense at DT/DE. He can perhaps play inside DE when Alualu is in there but he can not be the other DT when it is just him and Cam. He is terrible at run defense.Thye list Cam at 6’5” 295 and Wormley at 6’5” 300. That is not possible. Wormley is 285 at most or Cam is 320 because Cam is significantly more dense looking than Wormley is. If they don’t pick up a run stuffing DT/DE between now and the start of the season, I sure hope Loudermilk develops. For this defense to be successful we can not have Wormley as a starter on the line.

This. Both Bush and Edmonds are below the line but will start.

Can't have a wait and see if Bush struggles to play through it. The mistakes he made in 21 were mental. If he struggles early they have to sit him.

I wish they didn't bring Edmonds back but here he is. He says he is the unquestioned starter. Not a positive.

As far as the D Line hopefully Alualu can get back to dominance. But he will only be a part time player due to multiple sub packages. They also have Adams.

They have to find the guy to start opposite Heyward. Is it Loudermilk? Leal? Its not Wormley who will be used for his pass rush skills unless he can sure up his run defending. This will be interesting to see who comes out of camp as the starter.

If Bush and Edmonds play above the line and they figure out the D Line struggles for run stuffing this D could be solid.

    Only time will tell...

You and I are on the same page. You nailed it with the three weak points in Edmunds, Bush and Wormley. I am not 100% sold on Jack either. Bush’s highlight tape from 2019 actually looks better than any of Jacks highlight tapes. I would feel much better going into the season with a good DE/DT free agent pickup or a reasonable trade for Derron Payne. I think Payne would be really good when they have two down lineman next too Heyward.

Exactly. He suffered a back injury that he was dealing with and his play suffered for a little while because of it but as anyone can tell you that has ever had a bad back its difficult to even move let alone play football yet Hargrave was out there. He’s a gamer and he’s very good and a shame they couldn’t keep him.

They need to stop the run.

Sacking the QB is great and wonderful, but when your giving up 150 plus on the ground it really takes that amazing feeling away.

The D line is a huge ? I don’t see Hayward playing as well this year because he was so good last year and has a lot of tread on those tires. Besides him the Dline is very questionable and unknown. I like Alulu but he can’t stay healthy.

The Steelers were up until this year, that's how the Ravens were able to spend big money on their CBs with Lamar still on his rookie contract.

I sure hope he did because he can’t play DT in this system without bulking up and gaining strength.

Don't know and I'm not worried about other teams. That's over 7 per game. That's not good and it has to improve.
    Thanks clive.

It doesn't matter about last year's rankings. The longer this front plays together the better. Alualu was playing well before he broke his ankle. Loudermilk played pretty good as a rookie and will improve. Looks like Adams has found a team that will use him. Wormley even though many don't like him for some unknown reason had a good year. A second year with this group and a bigger role hopefully helps them get even better. If Davis is healthy I think he can add to this group. I think Mondeaux will be the odd man out. Leal, we will see. I think this group will be quite good. We won't need these older guys to play all those snaps and can keep them fresher longer.
