Some here argued with me when I mentioned before the draft how we had a good bit left. And I kept saying every year over the cap and etc type places are wrong with projected numbers, until after the draft.

I've seen those web sites generally mess up, unless a team starts with less than 20 million before free agency. Before free agency they're right. After the draft a few weeks they'll end up getting it right. But between that time they post false numbers of the cap space after a couple free agents are signed.

(Just a couple people who argued with me this year.)

my point above is proven. Just like i said, once the cap and etc places don't know crap after a couple names get signed and until after the draft a few weeks.... as of today we have 20 million and we signed Fitz.

I'll accept my apology as a case of yuengling.

Minkah’s numbers for his new contract are not even on there yet.

you do know a guy retired gaining us nearly half of what we have now? minkah isn't on the books yet. as i was saying and am still right in case you haven't noticed, big money kicks in NEXT YEAR <<< as i said. we also haven't signed our 1st rounder. we have not taken money into the season. we have a WR that may get paid. we didn't use the 5th year option on two first round picks now. so right there is 3 starters we may very well have to replace and a starter who retired. that won't be cheap.

You mean this guy that got us 4+ million??? You said we had 8 million, just like over the cap. and that was before we signed our draft class and etc. So how did his retirement pay for all that, as well for Fitz 10+ million this year (will increase probably another 7), as well get us to 20+ million in cap.

So I'll now take 2 cases.

Yall were after me saying how over the cap was right. Which at that time was 8 million. We grew to 20 million+, paid the draft class and etc. Ain't no way tuitts 4+ million could do all that.

So explain how that math works.

lets also not forget that we have two draft picks to sign yet, one being a 1st round QB. minkahs money is not factored yet. we will carry 4-5 million into the season for injury. we are only counting 89 players because we usually have 90. we haven't signed that 90th guy yet. there will be player 52 and 53 to yet count towards the cap as of now it's only the top 51. we will have to include before the season begins our expanded practice squad as well. they do count against our cap. so no we don't have 20 million by the time it's done.

Well they still have Kevin Colbert as the GM, so something is out of date.

You going to say we still have signings. Yet you made your claim before it (and even stated that. )

Dude just admit it already. Without fitz new contract, no way should we be sitting at 20+. And your words back then were we still had practice squad, avery, Joseph, draft class. Yet we did that and have 20k+

Yep. I'm "thinking" it'll go down 7 when his number are correct.

My only thing is i hate it between the time of free agency to the draft. Because they get so far off.

I was just wondering to myself when news broke that Minkah was to be the highest paid safety (which I'm still not sure I'm ok with) if they were just paying the money to him they would have paid Tuitt instead of going out and signing another free agent to help with the run.

As far as paying Minkah is concerned we can clearly see the market is starting to trend upwards at a number of positions, one of which may be safety so the Steelers wanted to set the market before it got out of hand. Hopefully it pays off, but safety is another one of those positions where it seems like when a player gets paid their productivity seems to tail off much like at rb. The fully guaranteed amount is the only thing that really matters at the end of the day though.

    No apology from me.

You said that they speculate. As in, making up numbers.

My point was that there is a delay between an announced contract signing (which may not have gone through the NFL paperwork yet) and when it is posted on their site.

Their information may not always be up to date, but it was accurate with the information they had at the time that they posted.
That is different than your claim that they are speculating.
