Conner would have been a better #2 option than all of them combined.

I think any time you have a #1 as your #2 it would be considered a better option.

Yeah....I wasnt a fan when we drafted him and I'm still not. I'm not sure if its his attitude or what it is that rubs me the wrong way....

their UDFA's have homerun ability. they have to pass protect though. snell knows the system and can do all these things except be a homerun threat. he can catch, he can run with power, he can pass protect. no he isn't najee like but as a 2nd guy he's valuable.

He wasn't a good option for a #2?, I'm thinking the exact opposite. He was becoming a team leader too, which this team is still in desperate need of.

Honestly Conner needed to move on, he is to good as just a back up, cards used him perfectly and he gave them 18 tds.

Who should we replace him with? Can't see this happening unless we make a trade.

Who are you gonna replace him with? Not many "good or great" backs are gonna want to be the #2 guy knowing that we don't use a #2 guy hardly ever.

James Conner had the talent. He just never had the health. He stayed mostly healthy for Cards last year and it paid off. He was the bargain of the year.

He wouldn't of done what he did in AZ here with the Steelers. He would of got destroyed in the backfield and hurt.

Glad he got his pay day. Followed James since his high school days in Erie. Think it did him good to get away and with a different team and out of Western, PA.

Snell was a great college RB, I saw him tear Penn State up for over 250 yards in a bowl game. His trouble is that he is a step too slow for the NFL. I've seen him get good blocking and turn the corner only to get quickly caught for only a 3 or 4 yard game when it looked like he should've gotten at least 10.

I'll take his spot. I'd ride the pine for half of what they are paying him.

Conner wanted to be a starter. No way he was going to sign here with the way the Steelers use their #2 backs.

Ballage was so meh I didn't even realize he was gone. Snell is okay, he plays hard but he's too slow. He's decent between the tackles, he'll get some tough yards. As others have said, better run blocking would help for sure. I don't hate on the guy at all, but I think he might suffer a bit from Terrell Edmunds syndrome. He was probably drafted higher than he should have been. McFarland has a lot to prove AFAIC. I know, I know, the bad line play, blah blah, blah. But he has shown absolutely zilch to date. He better do something when the games count or looking good at OTA's, mini camp and the preseason won't mean squat.

He's a #1 talent you have as your #2...which is better than having a #2 talent as your #2 in all cases
