Tomlin is just going through his full cliche history to find the right ones before Kenny Pickett throws his first regular season interception and all the Steelers fans look to burn him at the stake.

I’d rather see them in this contraption than see them end up like Marion Barber. RIP

Maybe this stuff provides some help but until they figure out how to put cushions inside the skull, players are still going to get concussed.

Aside from the fact or maybe not fact at all, I think that somebody from that goofy show Masked singer had some input to the design of this.

Those things have to be hot in July in camp

Are they trading concussions for heat stroke

Out of curiosity, would it be better if there wasn't the hard exterior of the helmet?

That looks and probably is a soccer goalie helmet.
What if the helmet was removed from the uniform?
What if we went very small shoulder pads. Spoiler look at 90s game film and now.

I know we'd be flirting with a rugby look but wouldn't it be better and would players NOT lead with their head if there was no helmet?

Not saying right or wrong just curious as to the thoughts you guys have.

Limiting head contact by removing the ability to lead with the head?

Well, I played countless tackle football games as a kid and teenager, and nobody EVER got a head injury any worse than a fat lip or bloody nose.

Yeah, the brain still moves. But this, in theory, should take away some of the intertia keeping the brain from getting too much unnecessary abuse. In theory...

I just hope they don't start wearing them in games. They look ridiculous. I'd rather they go no helmet than this.

While undiagnosed, how many of those folks, in that era, have/had this issue we are giving context to.
