This post may be a little late but after going off the Baltimore game more and more, I am left with one question. Where's Wallace? Obviously Mike Wallace was on the field Sunday but where was his passion or effort. Mike Wallace has seemed to disapear again this season and it may be the scheme this time but it is unacceptable. A big rivalry game without your QB, A.Brown and a chance to show your worth. It doesn't make sense to me, shouldn't Wallace be playing for a contract and big bucks? Instead he's been playing like the one trick pony he's been labelled as. One play the sticks out in my mind is the 3rd and 2 fade to the corner of the endzone, surely a stupid call but looking at it over and over makes me ask. How did he not get his feet in bounds, he didn't even give any effort. It was disgusting. I believe Mike Wallace tanked.

P.S. Did you guys hear about Ben's sling coming off? Maybe back for Baltimore? Just give him a military flak jacket to protect his ribs.:lolol:

If tomlin is true to his word , Wallace should be benched 4 the nxt game. Then again Tomlin might have NOT noticed wallace fumbling or having a bad game... He didn't notice Lefty hurt.

Wallace helped win the game agains the gaints and cheifs, His fumble hurt our chances against the Ravens. But with the dink and dunk, his vertical game as gone bye bye. But, Wallace is still a good reciever, but he has to hang on to the ball we can't have fumbles.

We went away from the bomb because Lefty couldn't throw one after his fall on his azz in the endzone trick

I say bench him, if he does'nt like it, let his money hungry ass walk at the end of the year. Then find his repacement in the draft I'm tired of all his drops.

the sad thing is that no matter how dissappointed some of us are in Wallace this year some team is going to make him a huge contract offer and the Steelers are probably going to let him walk since he is under performing this season.

i know he is great at stretching the field, but its just not happening this year. we have seen his ablity to catch a short pass and turn it into a 51 yard td. the problem is he seems to be dropping too many of those short passes so he cant turn them into anything.

in a perfect world Wallace would end up with 80 receptions for about 1100 yards and 10 td's. thats what they need from him and if thats what they got i would be in favor of them signing him. hes actually on pace for that type of season, but its how hes doing it. he could actually be putting up better numbers.

i like to look at when hes making the catches. as in are they for 1st downs or td's. both AB and Miller both have more 1st down catches and hes tied with Sanders who doesnt play nearly as much and hes tied with Miller for td's. i think thats whats so frustrating about him. he has all the ability to be great, but he just doesnt seem to be all in this year.

They could make great use of Wallace with slants, like the one he took to the house. They are generally easy catches, caught in stride and he can just take off. Easier then trying to hit him in stride on deep routes.

Yeah I don't understand why we don't. The TD catch and run in the Giants game should not be a once a season occurence, I don't get why we don't keep going to him on slants, one missed tackle and he be in the endzone on any play.

I was also upset with Wallace on Sunday, as I have been for much of the season. Maybe if he didn't hold out and skip camp I could be a little more leniant but if I was coach I would be chewing him out regularly.

Do you guys remember the pass by Leftwich on I think 3rd down pretty late in the game, it was a horrible throw, but Wallace just bent over and trapped it on the ground. Why didn't he go to the ground to try to catch it?? Where's the effort

While I agree with Wallace being a non factor most of the night, where were the rest of the receivers? I feel like when Brown isn't on the field we have no passing game.

We don't/can't throw slants to Mr Wallace because he's not tough enough. He needs to be willing to take a big hit to run an effective slant. As we saw last week, he'll turn the ball over once confronted by a big hit.

You're right, and I wouldn't even call the hit that caused the fumble a big hit...

While I agree Sanders is a very good #3, Brown makes this group. I'm not sure who will agree but I would rather have Brown locked up long term than Wallace. Brown is a team guy, and I think Sanders is also.

Here go the Wallace badgers and extremists again. LISTEN TO YOURSELVES. Replace Wallace with whom? I agree that Wallace needs to lean how to be a more complete receiver (fight for ball, come back to the ball, use his body as a shield etc) but some of you act as if he's Limas Sweed lol, I mean this dude has made some pretty big catches for us (remember the last minute end zone catch against Green Bay a few years ago). It's up to a wide receivers coach and player to GET BETTER and I'm convinced that Wallace wants to be better. What I see missing in his makeup is more mental toughness and focus for 4 quarters. Now to be fair it may be hard for him to remain focused when he's going up against DB's and playing opposite lesser talented wideouts who are making more than he (hard to do your job if you feel under appreciated). What I hope is that the Steelers and he come to an agreement after the season even if it comes at a cost of losing Sanders (sorry number 3 wideouts are a dine a dozen but a 1,2 duo is not) anyone who believes Brown and Sanders is a better 1,2 than Brown and Wallace (notice I put AB first) is not being realistic, the latter 2 are a better compliment while having all 3 plus Heath, Rainey makes you a force for many years to come. Wallace is to Brown what Swann was to Stallworth.

Believe me, I'd love to get Wallace signed to a deal in the offseason but just stating that he's going to have to mature if he's looking for the 11mil/year he supposedly wants.

You seem to contradict yourself here. First you say that Brown (I assume you're talking about Brown since he makes more money than Wallace) is less talented than Wallace and then you make it a point to put AB as the number one receiver and Wallace two. What exactly are you saying? I totally disagree if you're saying that AB is the "lesser talented" WR compared to Wallace. It's not even close. AB is light years ahead of Wallace in every single category, hands, route running, yards after catch, etc., except for speed. And AB is plenty fast enough.

And Wallace apologists always like to bring up the catch in the Green Bay game two years ago when the fact is it wasn't that difficult a catch. He trapped it against his body and the most difficult thing was getting both feet in bounds, which I commend him for doing. I just wish he could have done that Sunday night. It would have resulted in a win.

Because he doesn't really secure the ball well when he catches it. You saw it when he fumbled. AB fumbled trying to get more YAC. He just didn't have it secured.
