Sounds like he is open to listening about any opportunity and not seeking to return to the level of HC but sticking to training young linemen.

I dont have a clue what he ultimately desires but the Yankees had a bench coach Don Zimmer who maybe wasnt an analytical metric Ernie Adams type but had a ton of experience to advise.

Like someone pointed out on Steeler Depot..this would be wild to have Flores and Munch on the same staff as advisers.

To this day I hear mixed reports about if Tomlin runs the entire show or is hands off and doesnt micro manage his staff.

Just like the Pats...there are many things that are a mystery to me about what we debate vs what really goes on between the Coach and GM.

They just put a guy in that position so you can’t just get rid of him

But if you have the opportunity to acquire that much needed talent you find a way to make it work

He probably went out west and realized that Californians are quickly ruining Colorado. The Steelers should probably grab a handful of pens and meet up with him immediately. Our OLine has been pure garbage ever since he left.

Munchak as O coordinator....Flores as head coach. Sounds like a plan!

Politics aside, California is responsible for half of our GDP. It would be great if Munchak was O line coach again.

At least this interview confirms that there was nothing the Steelers could have done to keep him when he left, it was about being close to his family.

Why I think it's a pipe dream , The Steelers hired an OL Coach....It's not the Steelers way , without playing a game to say " Sorry, we found someone better , Bye "...And I don't see Munchak coming in as an Assistant OL Coach...

The only scenario that could be plausible I guess is.... Munchak has accomplished everything he has wanted to, would welcome coming in as an " advisor type " and not have the overall day to day type grind...

With all the nice things he said about the Steelers...Maybe?

At least none that I know of.

    Geez Why Not?

You think this Oline has been improved any since he left? They can't run block for the life of the team. Pass Blocking has also gone straight down hill since he left the Steelers. I'd be willing to chip in for his moving expenses if we got him back.

Maybe you are confusing him with Keith Butler? That's the only way your "No Thanks" makes any sense to me.

Coach T better be hanging around at that camp winking his eyes off!

Bring him in as an "Advisor".

Nice to hear the Steelers did reach out to him.

He still had another year left on his contract with Denver, so they are basically paying him to stay home in Colorado this year.

I've visited San Diego. Nice place. As a Virginian, I'm thankful we have California but wouldn't want to experience their cost of living.

I’d agree that they have hired an OLine coach and can’t move him aside now but it would be great if Munchak came back in some capacity, senior offensive assistant / advisor / run game coordinator, whatever. By all accounts he is a great coach and a great mentor to young players and works well with MT. Job title should be largely irrelevant, get him in working with guys like Dan Moore and Kendrick Green if he is open to coming back

    SIMPLE.
I woke up being or wanting to be argumentative. LOL
Not totally, but in a way true.
I really would like his return OBVIOUSLY the line was better when he was here.
I really thought veterans like Pouncey could incorporate all he was taught and should have learned after Munchak departure instilled in all the OL. FALSE.
Yes a small part of me, wanted to be a wooden spoon, if it happens H2TY. No complains here.

No, no you don't! The median price of a home here, countywide is now reported at 950,000.00. I think that's inflated. Here, in the suburbs, the median price is 566,000.00. On the bright side, the average price of gas is 6.04/gal. though, it's much less at Costco.
