As long as MT doesn't get any more authority. Omar Kahn and Louis Riddick would be fine
with me. Art II will keep a close I on both, The Rooney's have built too big of a brand to let someone run it down the drain.

Khan isn't a football guy, that is what I don't understand about this?

I think you only hire Khan if you increase Tomlin's power/duties?

Many people don’t know that Khan started as a scout and has also been involved in the draft process for many years.

I do agree with your second point though, I think Tomlin will be the de facto GM as far as choosing talent. They aren’t really looking for a boss for Tomlin, at most they are looking at a partnership which was more or less the nature of Colbert and Tomlins relationship with Colbert having final say but the authority would be flipped now with the next “GM”.

I can't remember a team in history taking this long to interview and hire a successor GM...... excruciating. I mean it might work, but it just seems like such a long process.

Fans just make stuff up, Art II said even with the hire of a new GM, Tomlin isn't gaining anymore power.

If Cowher had GM duties the Steelers wouldn't have drafted Ben .

Riddick probably had the least chance of getting the GM job, he hasn't worked in the NFL for 10 years, they probably did him a favor giving him an interview since he's a Pitt guy.

I think they will hire Weidl, or Hunt to be the new GM.

According to Cowher he could not work with Tom Donahue and one of them needed to go. Cowher stayed. Colbert was hired as Director of Football Operations not GM. Cowher told Colbert he was not his boss and he wanted them to work together.

    A good easy read:
