This is how I feel. And despite others who dislike Plax, I'm sure Ben will be happy he is back. They were quite a tandem in 2004.

If he does good for the rest of the season will they let Cotch go and bring Plax back next year?

No no no. Keep Cotchery and let Wallace walk. Plex while not nearly as good as Wallace is much cheaper. And the Plex, Brown, Sanders, Cotchery group is a good bunch...and reasonable priced. Im hoping Plex has enough to make this a reality. He could really soften the blow of losing Wallace.

Steelers just jumped the shark IMHO. I always left it to the bungles and patsies to sign those with checkered pasts and have them fail miserably...guess we thought it was our turn

Hines Ward can't play anymore even if he wanted to that's why the Steelers benched him last season.

Really? It's not like Plax is just coming out of jail. He's made his successful return already with the Jets. I don't know why he'd fail miserably. I'd wager he'll play hungry and be a difference maker during his short time here.

Yeah i think while it filled a need it also truely benefits the team. other teams know once we hit the twenty lock down miller. while our speed is great once the field gets smaller speed doesnt really matter. with plex in there you cant just focus on heath really you still to this day would probably focus more on burress then heath. dude had a gun that was registered in florida in new york he made a mistake. there are a lot worse things to do out there and personally i strongly disagree with no guns in new york city.

Well I for one do not plan to miss Wallace whatsoever. I also am not a Cotchery fan either.

I've been wanting him back practically since he left, so I'm thrilled with this signing. I think that he could play hard and well, particularly because getting a second shot with the team. I look forward to seeing him in the back of the endzone!

He gives us the red zone target we have needed since he left. If that is all he gives us than it is a great signing especially for the money we paid him.

TTF i have never responded to one of your quotes but i totally agree with you.. i dont think we are signing plax to be our future fo withthe intention hes even here the end of the year... when AB comes back and then when cotch comes back.. as they say on duck dynasty .. HE GONE.... or maybe is plays great and we keep him as a tall red zone target that ben has wanted forever.. and if that works out well we keep him into next season as a 5th WR to use inthe red zone only?

they are just finalizing his CC permit and making sure all guns are registered first. most corners in the league don't cover him as close anymore because of the thought of a run by shooting. he should be open in the redzone.

That was my first thought. Ben should be happy that he's here and can throw to him when he's back.

Yeah its a 3 down league. Its mainly a passing game with only 3 downs. The video about Beavers in Canada has been in my sig line for months now lol

Today, while at the health club - here in Vermont, far from the Burgh mind you- I happened to run into another Steelers fans, whose wife had worked with Plax's when they lived in Pittsburgh. Interesting enough, - anyway he'd met him a few times and had nothing positive to say about him.

Still, I'm happy about this. It has huge potential upside, and very little downside. If he can't play and/or acts like a jerk, cut him.

Plax has 63 career touchdowns. Only 4 players in Steelers history have ever scored more than that. In addition, he scored the winning TD in a Super Bowl game. He knows how to win- at least on the field. Ben loved him when he was here, and hopefully they will get to play together soon.

Here's another thing I've been wondering about. Assuming Burress plays in a game, he will have gone 8 years between playing in a game for the Steelers? Have there ever been any players in team history who've returned after than long of an absence? I generally pride myself on knowing such things, but I'm drawing a blank here. I know kicker David Trout went 6 years between 1981 and returning as a replacement player in 1987.
