Art II personally went to Florida to meet with AB, after that meeting AB was never talked about
by the Steelers. I would be disappointed if the Steelers let him have some sort of praise/ recognition. The Steelers
bent over backwards for this player. They even renegotiated his contract/s which is unheard of the PGH Steelers. Tomlin
let him get away with things that other team players could not. Let him go retire a BUC. He isn't worth the PGH Steelers time.

Typically, I would say do it.
In Brown's case, he burned a lot of bridges and not just here.
The tempy tantrum he threw, tossing his laundry and walking off the field was classless.
He says he 'doesn't need help' he does.

So much talent there, all down the drain.
I don't see how he gets in the Hall of Fame.

I could see it happening, I think AB had a good relationship with the Rooneys, especially Dan so that could carry some weight with Art.

I don’t like AB as an individual but he was an amazing Steelers player, should we just pretend he never played for them? I wouldn’t have a problem if they granted him that wish. I don’t have to like him as a person to appreciate what he contributed as a player and thats what would be recognized by letting him retire as a Steeler.

I think, in the end, Pittsburgh will do it.
It's hard not to recognize what he did.
He did tick off the Rooney's but it wasn't as bad as what he has done since.
    So maybe they do it.

I just don't see the Hall of Fame nod.

Does he want to retire a Steeler, or does he just want another pay check from somewhere?

If the Rooney's signed him to a one day contract, I wouldn't mind; if they didn't sign him to a one day contract, I wouldn't lose sleep.

Unless you still despise the man till this day, most of us found a way to forgive Ben for the stupid s#!t he did. I imagine most people will be able to forgive AB after some time. Especially since he didn't take food from our mouths or money from our pockets.

You know he doesn't give AF about being a Steeler he just wants a gig somewhere so he can cash in.

I guess the mortgage payment on his McMansion is due.

I think he wants/needs the attention and publicity that would come from his retiring as a Steeler

He craves attention and he is quickly becoming a nobody and I don’t think he can handle that mentally

I also don’t know that the Steelers want to be a part of his clown show.

It is tough to get a read on Antonio Brown: His thoughts tumble in his head, making and breaking alliances like underpants in a dryer without Cling Free.

I don’t know I say it’s ok to retire. He was awesome for a good period here. Ben also had some bad allegations… I think AB is mentally ill too so I give him somewhat of a pass lol.

Almost everyone imo is ass but while he was here he produced. Conflicted for sure

I think it was retired. They deleted it from their address book and never called him again.

I guess I never understood the burning/ throwing away jerseys. If I want to waste my money I'll spend an evening out drinking overpriced craft beer. I always looked at jerseys like a history of the team I've been following for the last 44 years. There was a reason I bought the jersey in the first place. With regards to AB, when he stretched over the goal line to win us the division against the hated Ravens in 2016, the joy I felt then was far greater than any disappointment/anger I've felt over him self sabotaging his own career.

His stats were definitely HOF numbers. I think him wanting to retire a Steeler is a small step for him to lobby for HOF. I agree, it won't happen. If it does it will be something like 2050 when no one remembers what actually happened.

Too Early for a retirement signing.

I predict AB ends up playing for Baltimore by midseason. Eventually Baltimore is going to realize that they are completely screwed at their WR position and go into a panic mode and try to sign any available veteran WRs.

I think many years down the road AB will make it to the Steelers Hall of Honor, and that should be all he deserves.
