The new Oline coach probably had some say/want here as the article states.

This quietly may be the best upgrade this past offseason! (coach)

The Panthers' offensive line was terrible last year, which is one thing that makes me wonder about the hiring of Meyer and the signing of Scott.

From what I read on him. He started for the chargers who's left tackle was out for almost 2 seasons. And I don't read of any bad news. So that's a win.

So I take it as a decent backup.

Scott is 6'5" and weighs 320 from Grambling. He's still only 28 years old and with 19 career starts he should be a reliable backup.

Not bagging on the signing or Trent Scott as a player. The issue for me is that the whole OL is made up of Trent Scott type players. Another one more or less doesn’t make a difference.

Meyer has to be a better OL coach than Klemm was.

Maybe we are trying to find someone who graded worse than Bush last year so that he wouldn’t feel so bad.

Well no ****. There's rarely a decent grade on someone who is a backup. And the guy who got a really good grade as a backup is the Vikings OT/C we picked up.

Wasn't it Haeg who was beaten badly on one or both sacks that ended their last shot in the loss to the Chargers. He gave Roethlisberger absolutely no chance, ending what had been a great comeback.

He was available because he sucked in Tampa. One of the things that concerns me about his offseason is they go into 2022 with him as the top backup offensive tackle.

Yes. He got beat like a drum. The chargers ran right over him on consecutive plays.

those two sacks came while he was playing guard. he gave up 3 on the season and 1 penalty. guard isn't his best spot. as a RT he isn't that bad he can play some LT too but that would probably be chuks if moore went down. none of our backups are guys i would want starting long term but that's why they are backups. we have some options in camp this year for that role. haeg had 307 snaps last year with 3 sacks allowed and 1 penalty. his strength is the run game really.

There's facepalm. Then there's double facepalm. But you just made it even worse.

Apparently you have a Tebow hate, or you have no idea that Tebow was a QB.

I also brought up pff grades are stupid for backups. But if you're so driven by pff grades, (then you are probably thinking Mason Cole is going to be a top 5 offensive line player for the entire NFL). Seriously bro, screw pff grades on backup players. It's too hard to judge them, due i limited snaps and history.
