QB Mike Kafka coming in for work out...

    Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter
A favorite to wind up as the Steelers' backup quarterback is former Eagle Mike Kafka, who will work out for Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

He was decent from what I remember as the backup there and was the odd man out when they drafted Foles. Interesting...

And sorry TTF for starting another QB related thread...but I figured it'd be pointless to bury this in the Favre/etc thread.

Still like Garrard better but if they get a servicable guy I'll be fine with that. It's not like they're looking for Mr. Right. Just Mr. Right Now.

I heard that, too. That's a realistic candidate. I also just saw Dixon has opted to stay with the Ravens, and Brian Hoyer will be coming in for a work out tomorrow, too. Hoyer was Brady's back up until recently.

Steelers talked to Dennis Dixon but he opted top stay on Ravens practice squad. Brian Hoyer among the QBs Pitt will workout Tuesday

Just saw this also...Hoyer wasnt terrible either.

No need, it's a solid news story.

As a side note, I need to get my merging skills sharpened.

Think about this - it could have been like a "We'll give you $X if you tell the Steelers you don't want to play for them" kind of deal.

I still think they'll cut him after our next game with them.

Unfortunate that the biggest free agent day at the steeler facility this year is in November. Just sayin.

From what I can gather, sounds like Mike Kafka and Brian Hoyer the only 2 QBs being worked out by the Steelers Tues. They intend to sign one

Maybe but that's crazy, if Batch goes down Sunday he'd have a chance to showcase himself to other teams, if he did well he might garner interest from somebody. Long shot I know but beats sitting on a practice squad.

Dixon will be released from the Ravens practice squad after our last game against them. He doesn't realized he's a pawn. He has a better chance with landing on our 53 man roster after Leftwich lastest injury.

At this point, what can Dixon actually do for the Ravens. He is not familiar with Haley's system and couldn't possibly tell them anything they don't already know about Lebeau.

Any news on a new QB signing to backup Charlie on Sunday?

We obviously need someone there to back him up. Any QB sightings in Pittsburgh?:applaud:
