I think options are down to Marquese Bell or Tycen Anderson for the safety spot, or perhaps Smoke Monday or Bubba Bolden. None are day 1 starters.

Yes, exactly! I will never understand what they see in Edmunds. Cross was a Steeler through and through, in the same mold as Ryan Clark and Mike Mitchell.

Edmunds doesn't suck. He's average. It's okay to be average in the NFL and someone has to be the 11th best starter on defense.

When you have a star in Fitz, you don't need a star back there with him.

I agree with most of this, but as a Steeler, Mike Mitchell sucked. I would not want another one like him.

Agree. If he had not had the torn ACL, he might have been a first round pick.

 

An average safety would have gotten more than $2.5 million on the open market. I don't know why people can't accept just how bad Edmunds is.
