That was the same season, 2013. He was the second quarterback taken in that draft after Manuel.

 

I see reactions to the Pickett pick all over the place. Riddick loves it, for example.

 

Dude they’re both Steelers so I will be rooting for both of them. I’m not going to act like a child and have a meltdown like some people around here. No stupid little nicknames or similar. We have an outstanding head coach and general manager. I will put my trust in them and their evaluations.

 

Well, Mel Kiper says we made a mistake and should have taken Willis. So, obviously they made the right pick in Kenny.

 

Only QB picked in the 1st round. Like him or not he is a Steeler. And the only one I feel is NFL ready to start. But will sit behind Trubisky this season.
Dodged the Willis bullet. Nice kid but a project. Small school wonder.

Well, in fairness he has to be positive about the pick since he'll be in contention for Colbert's job.

You can't apply for GM at a place you've just lambasted the Franchise QB pick. He was equally effusive with his praise of the Trubisky pick up..

I'm.not saying he is lying or wrong, but he simply isn't going to say anything negative about the Steelers until the GM position is filled.

 

I think Pickett will end up being a Derek Carr type QB and using a 20th pick on that is a win.

 

I hope they get Bernhard Raimann, OT, in round 2. Maybe not quite a plug and play tackle, but the best one likely to be available at 20.

 

So next question…. What position or players are in play for today? OL, WR, DB, DL, LB?

 

Actually, it does sound as if you are implying that he is lying. There could be some homerism involved. Riddick is a Pitt guy. I just thought his explanation was good.

I saw one mock 2nd round with us taking Faalele, OT Minnesota….

WR is tough since soooo many left the board in the 1st round.
