1st Round of 2022 NFL draft, Steelers select QB poll

What about bringing in a guy like Ryan Fitzpatrick on a one year deal? I'm betting he comes pretty cheap and he's shown the ability to at least be serviceable as a starter. I know he's on the old side but for what they need he seems to be a pretty good fit

 

Stay put in the 1st and draft a non QB is my hope

Coming off injury, 40 years old. Last year was paid 10 million. Gee have not we just been through that?

 

Problem is... the QBs that go in the first round on Thursday will be experiments, too.

 

Remember Bubby. Chuck Noll saw him play one game on TV. I don't know if they scouted him after that? But he saw him and wanted him..and drafted him. That alone makes me shiver at the thought of another 3rd round QB lol

 

He needs to show he can stay on the field and be more productive. The physical talent is there, but he needs a strong 2022.

 

A lot of speculation that the Steelers go offense with the first 2 picks.

I don't know how much weight I put on that; it is possible I suppose.

Well, one thing is for sure. We really need a great draft.

I really hope we don`t draft a QB, however our first pick will be having some drama until it`s over because of all this QB selection speculation about us.

 

Some of us will b!tch and moan if they go QB, some will do the same if they don't. But we'll all be here hoping they did the right thing come September.

Personally, I hope Davis drops and they get him. I'd rather they wait and see what they have with Trubisky before they take the plunge in the QB pool, but what do I know? My biggest gripe last season was the way their front seven got ran over at times. As a long-time Steeler fan, I'm loath to see their defense get consistently out muscled. These "bad ass" AFC North QB's? You're going to beat the Steelers, you're going to do it without benefit of a ground game, so wave bye-bye to P.A. That would be my mindset anyway.

No matter what, the draft is always good fodder for discussion leading up to camp and preseason. Can't wait!

 

1. He won't get 10 million. If he holds out for that then good luck to him
2. He's not going to be the starter. We wouldn't be depending on him to carry the team
3. He's got the experience to come in and be a help in the QB room.
I'm not looking at him as a savior. I'm looking at him as the third QB of the needed 4 when we go to training camp

W. Kentucky University QB Bailey Zappe. Here's a link discussing whether or not he is Pro material. At 6', he seems a little short. But, he's mobile. Maybe a good 3rd rd. selection if nothing else. I don't know anything about him, really.

How is a rookie QB supposed to get snaps if they sign Fitzpatrick?

 

Really...outside the scout team....I don't know how even the 3rd Qb gets reps.

 

Willis will be gone and we will pick a big OL.

 

Why would Fitzpatrick ger all the snaps? He's signed as a backup. He brings experience. We only have 2 QBs on the roster now. We will probably draft one. That's 4.
