Maybe, just because of time going by. But they've always been really good musicians. They were a very underground band early on. Have you heard Today is the Day? They did an album with half of Mastodon, before they got big. Its insanely good.

I agree they always been good, but they are better musicians now. It's like anything....if You keep doing it You either get better, or You stagnant. As with playing football, or anything.....if You say well I'm good enough....So that's all I got....., or push forward, and see what You can truly do.
I mean should they learn something new, and say wow that's cool , but I'm not going 2 use it because it will make My fans of what I use 2 do(when I wasn't as good) not like Me???

Hell I can relate.... My most loved, watched, and listen 2 song is something I wrote when I was 16 , and really couldn't play the guitar. It's F**king frustrating. It's like 2 some people......please don't get better at Your instruments.
WHAT THE F***k is that.....only in music is someone asked not 2 get better at what they do.....it's insane. IMO.
No I haven't heard that, but I will Be looking for it now.

    Look no further

I think its debatable that they are worlds better musicians now compared to back then. Even on the video above, the drummer and bassist are ripping it up.

I think its really more my personal preference, really. I dont like the style of music they play now, or at least not as much as their older stuff. To me they were this groundbreaking progressive sludge band, doing concept albums. And now they just sound like a prog rock band, that alot more bands play like.

They won a grammy, right, playing lighter music? And they are getting older? Mellowing out. I get it. Just like Metallica, they cant be expected to be so angry with all that success.

    I really appreciate that.
    So I didn't have 2 look.
It's literally impossible 2 play as much as they do ,and not get better.....unless Your AC/DC, and You just keep playing the same songs, and writing the same songs You always have.
I will Use Metallica, and Mastodon (since both have been brought up)....for instance. Metallica from the 1st Album till they just decided 2 just sell Albums.....every album was different....because there is no way not 2 progress as You play....Kill them all sounds nothing like Master Of Puppets....yet both are great in their own way, but musically Master is a much more complex playing, and Justice for All is got the most complex playing on any whole album....after that it's like they burned out, and went backwards.
Same with Mastodon....every album is different....it's called progression. The only bands that don't do this ....either can't, or....are afraid 2 because they are afraid fans won't like them anymore.
Actually like AC/DC that I brought up earlier....2 this day I can't figure out how they played that long ,and have not gotten any better at playing.
Again thank for the video.

This is the 1st I've heard of them. Kind of(key words ...Kind of) reminds Me of some of Jack Whites more obscure recordings when He just plays by Himself. If You know what I'm talking about.
I will have 2 look more into this.

I want to say they’re out of Brooklyn of all places. What’s a band from Brooklyn doing playing homage to Appalachian hill country music? No idea, but I like it.

If you like Peace Sells, from their more modern albums, you might like End Game and Dystopia. Those both rock hard and are among my favorite 'deth albums. Here's a track from each album.

This Day We Fight from Endgame (2009)

    Fatal Illusion from Dystopia (2016)
