I'm a little more hopeful that our line will be much more improved than it was last season. In the long run, I think Kendrick Green will be fine at C, but I think he needs a season or two of chilling on the bench first. Cole is a much better person for the job today. I also think the Steelers need to flip Chuks and Moore as well as move Dotson to the right side.

From left to right I think the line should look like this: T Chuks, G Daniels, C Cole, G Dotson, T Moore.

I really doubt they draft a lineman in the early rounds unless someone totally unexpected drops to them and they really have no choice. Doesn't mean that this line is better than 21, but I just feel a bit more comfortable with the line at this point in the offseason than I did last year.

I just point of the year the roster is still a work in progress. We still have the draft plus other teams are gonna make cuts. There’s still going to be some quality players that come available.
Any assessment is probably premature right now.

Oh it is much better, and I am going to have to disagree with ya a little here. But OT still needs upgraded, third round might be the round?

I'm not sold on Green being a C, but would like to see what a year in an NFL weight room has done for him. Would rather they return him to his natural position and let him sub for a year there and develop further. In the open field his athletic abilities are evident and he is a bull dog, the issue was getting pushed off the line. Honestly it was asking and expecting a lot for him to learn a new position with all the responsibilities entailed having never really played it, and perform well.

People keep bringing up the " year in the weight room " thing...Green was the school record holder at Illinois in weightlifting...over a #500 Bench, and #700 Squat...Strength wasn't the problem with those kind of numbers, so it had to be technique imo

Did not know that. Definitely technique, but also trying to learn all the things involved with a new position did not help. He just may not be good enough and I could accept that, but willing to give an out as the whole OL sucked lol.

I'm no sure why but some people seem down on Moore at LT.

I thought as a Rookie he did a great job.

He limited Garrett in both Meetings, I think Garrett had one sack in two matchups, and he wasn't too noticeable in other areas.

LT may be the hardest position to play on an NFL line as well. I think Dan Moore did a better than average job.

But as well you can see Dotson, he did well as a Rookie, and was kind of just average and then got hurt in his 2nd year. Maybe that is a fear the Steelers have with Dan Moore.

But, he's also really cheap. LT get paid the moon in the NFL

Strength wasn’t his issue. He needs to work on technique and balance.

If C TYLER LINDERBAUM, IOWA is there at 20 do you take him?

We passed on a future all pro center in Creed Humphrey last year, and watched him become one of the best his rookie year for Kansas City as our 3rd round pick failed miserably.

They won't take Linderbaum at #20, Tomlin/Colbert didn't attend his pro day, even though he was injured and didn't participate.

It was technique, and experience. That really is a lot 2 ask from a rookie....especially a rookie that basically didn't play that position, but We want a RB 2 play Qb now So....LoL

Dan Moore may not have the same level of concerns though as Dotson had. Dotson bought into his own hype after his rookie season and disappointed in the second; healthy or otherwise. Given where Dan Moore is from in the SEC, I seriously doubt he has the same mentality.

Truth be told.. should Mason Cole end up being listed as the starting Center by the time Training Camp begins or even hear rumblings of such at OTAs, Dotson better be sweating bullets. Green has shown thus far he is putting in the work. Now, whether or not he can actually perform being only 6'2 at Guard is another story all together. Left Guard though is his natural home. James Daniels could man the Right Guard side as he did in 2021.

    All speculation of course about this lineup I have in mind... but here is how I see it entering Trainng Camp before the draft;

    LT: Dan Moore

    LG: Kevin Dotson

    Center: Mason Cole

    RG: James
    Daniels

    RT: Chukwuma Okorafor

    Again... before the draft.

People are critiquing Moore and Green

They started as rookies at two hard positions we should be giving them accolades

If our OL wasn’t such a mess last year, both of them should have had a year or more to learn and work their way into a starting position

If that had happened we would now be looking forward to seeing what they can do with that year under their belts

Considering they actually started last year we should now be even more looking forward to their play next year

And if we find or have found an upgrade then all the better

Every reason to expect improved line play this upcoming season
