Tell me why you think other MLB prospects are a better fit for the Steelers in this draft? This guy checks all of the boxes. 6’3” 250lbs. ran a 4.5 40. Performed at the top of the charts across the board in broad jump, vertical and agility drills. He was super productive at Wisconsin with 8 or 9 sucks his senior year and 115 tackles in 11 games. Had a ton of tackles for loss. He can take on blocks and shed better than any middle linebacker on the Steelers current roster. He has not been asked to cover a lot but he has the agility and speed to be more than adequate in this area. I do not want another 6’ 220lb linebacker. The georgia linebackers scare me...in fact all the georgia defenders scare me. Are they good individually or is it more of a collective thing. There Dline was so dominate last year the georgia linebackers were able to flow freely to the ball carrier. Leo Chenal had to create his own lane often times and still performed at a high level. If we don’t draft this guy I can see him on the Patriots or Ravens and we will regret it.

Pro Football Network has him at a round 3 grade. Their reason that he wasn't a first or second rounder is that "he doesn't have sideline to sideline speed and doesn't change direction quickly".
As far as taking on blockers and stuffing the run up the middle, he is probably the best ILB in the draft at doing that.

Straight line speed has nothing 2 do with changing directions, and side line 2 sidelines speed. That is all I will say....because I don't watch much Wisconsin football, and really don't have an opinion on Him. He may just be as awesome as You say.

I hear you guys but the guy is off the charts in agility as well. He has change of direction ability and sideline to sideline speed. Check out his highlights. I don’t get how he is a 3rd round prospect. I would be elated if the Steelers could get him in the third though for sure.

    Leo Chenal
    Height: 6026
    Weight: 249
    Hand: 9 3/4”
    Arm: 31”
    40 Yard Dash: 4.53 seconds
    Vertical Jump: 40.5”
    Broad Jump: 10’8”
    Pro Agility: 3.94 seconds*
    Three Cone: 6.84 seconds*
    Bench Press: 34 reps*

    *results from Wisconsin’s Pro Day

Chenal absolutely blew up the Combine, posting some eye popping numbers in every event he participated in. Especially when adjusted for his weight, Chenal’s numbers are some of the most impressive in the history of the position. He followed up the combine performance with more eye-popping numbers from the typically friendly home-field stop watch in Madison, along with his 34 reps of 225 which were expected for the muscle bound linebacker.

As we see here, Chenal hits a full 10/10 on RAS (Relative Athletic Score) which is very similar to the old Nike SPARQ rating, but is a good tool to use to gauge a prospect’s weight adjusted athleticism.

He or muma I would love if we got. I also like Aaron hansford from Texas a&m, he would be more around the 6th round though. He is a little raw but has learned the position quickly. His first year he was a wr. He's had 3 years at the position. 6-3 240. 4.50

ILB has to be upgraded, Jack will help. Bush scares me, I will give him the benefit of doubt
for last years debacle. But he better play much much better and quickly. We can't let teams run the ball down our throats.

I would be good with Muma as well. I just hope they stay far away from the Georgia LB’s. I believe they are more of a product of the system and they benefitted tremendously from the Defensive Line. We really need Linebackers that can shed blocks.... as our line ages and with the uncertainty of Tuitt it makes it even more important that linebackers can shed blocks and stop the run. Imagine Chenal blitzing with Tuitt, Heyward and Watt. If we could get Davis at NT I don’t see how teams would be able to run on us or pass deep on us without the pocket collapsing on them.

Ryan Wilson the CBS draft guru has the Steelers top 3 picks as:
    1. Jordan Davis
    2. Desmond Ridder
    3. Jalen Pitre
I'm not sold on Ridder but if we land Davis and Pitre then I don't care who the other 5 players we pick are. Those two alone make it a great draft.

Boy, I don't see Pitre making it out of second? I also think IMO that Jordan Davis if selected would
have to have weight incentive clauses in his contract. He may eat himself out of the NFL. Also can he play 3 downs?

Pitre in the 3rd? Yeah, that won't happen.

    Perhaps
    Jordan Davis
    Jalen Pitre
    Carson Strong

Now that's be a great draft.

I personally favor Devonte Wyatt personally. But I'd take either.

Doubt the Steelers touch Wyatt. He has had a couple domestic issues in the last few years.

the talking heads have Ridder moving up into the first lately. With that being said I would do backflips if those were our first three picks. Davis is an absolute beast.

I'm scared Davis is 2 tall for the NFL, and will be run on a lot. I of course could Be wrong, but He also plays pretty high .

How big was Nata from Baltimore? I too worry about that type of height and playing low.

    Davis is over 6' 6".
I just worry about that Height at the NT position. I'm probably being stupid, but I can't think of a NT that has really worked at that height.

I don't think they will draft him, they had no scouts at his pro day.
