If I even see you working as a janitor for the Steelers let alone making draft picks I'm done with the Steelers!

we need a backup qb that can realistic finish a game without injurie , i don't question the talent level of lefty and batch , but they are not a football player anymore ,one hit (or a fall down ) and they are injuried , it seems pretty clear

Wish I could say otherwise, but saw it coming a mile away. Seventeen seconds of "woohoo, we are really going to do this!" followed by what felt like a lifetime of "crap, this is exactly what I expected". Feeling pretty deflated this morning.

Yeah, I mean I not a Leftwich supporter at all, but I thought he looked decently sharp on the first series. He is extremely fragile and I just think this was an instance where he hurt us by being "tough" and staying in the game. He clearly could not throw it with the rib/shoulder injuryl.

The person who needs to shoulder most of the blame for that it Tomlin, in my opinion. We saw it with Ben last year too. If a player is clearly injured and can impact the outcome of the game, I don't care how tough they think they are, the leadership needs to be responsible and sit them.

First...neither Batch or Lefty were drafted......Second Brady Quinn was a first round pick...you think the Steelers should of drafted Quinn in the first round? McCoy was a 3rd round pick....3 picks after E. Sanders....You would rather have drafted McCoy than Sanders?

The Browns have such a great history of drafting QB's you want not one but two of them that they have given up on in less than a year?

I am not even bashing Quinn and McCoy...who knows...maybe a change of scenery is just what they need to turn their careers around.

You want at least one veteran QB that can step in and go at a moments notice with zero snaps during the week.....you have to bring a rookie along and get him reps both mental and physical.

The Steelers would have that young QB to develop if Charlie would ever retire.....but he is to good a team player....to good at being ready to go without touching the ball for weeks at a time....and honestly...He keeps beating out the young guys.

    I don't know.

Between Quinn, McCoy, and VY I can't tell which comes off as the most desperate and insane.

I agree with you 100%. Tomlin should have recognized what the rest of the world saw on national TV. I wasnt blaming Byron, I just meant he was not going to be the one to go up and say Take me out Coach...and since Tomlin did not recognize the signs of a rib injury, he stayed in and we lost.

I have no problem with Byron staying in....He took all the reps all week long trying to get him up and ready. Now if he is injured...then Charlie needs to get all the reps and play this week.

This is how I believe it will go as well. If Leftwich is healthy, he starts.

And they shouldve made Harrison his mentor. Everytime he screwed up, he had to explain to Harrison.

I don't understand how you have no problem with Byron staying in...if it were just based on performance, I would agree since he took 1st team reps all week...but he was clearly hurt to a point where he could not complete his throwing motion and follow through. He under threw just about every WR that was 10 yds or further down the field. He clearly should have come out at halftime at the latest...sooner in my opinion.

I didn't take it as such spleeny.....You and I thought Byron was injured....but trainers all thought he was ok to play...Coaches thought he was ok to play......I would have probably put in Batch as well....but I am ok with them leaving Byron in if he was able.....As was said by another poster...If we yanked a QB every time he played hurt, Ben would never get off the bench

Both Batch and Leftwich were drafted.....Batch in R2 by the Lions in 98 & Leftwich 7th overall in 03 by Jaguars...

No I do not think we should have drafted Quinn or McCoy.

I am saying we should have entertained the idea of trading for McCoy when the Browns were shopping him pre & during draft for a 5th or 6th.We may not be in these straights we are now.

We all know they were drafted...just not by us...they were FA's for the Steelers.

McCoy would not have beat out Charlie Batch IMO. Brown fans were stunned he was kept over Wallace.

That is the point...it is widely considered in BROWN circles that the only reason for McCoy over Wallace was financial. The guy that everyone thought would beat out McCoy....is out of a job.

and if anything I don't understand your current point. The Browns kept McCoy over Wallace...so how are you trading with a division rival for him?
